I did 20 sec.on 10 rest for 4 min. Squat thrusts, mountain climber, high knees, jumping jacks. Then i did a home workout of 2 1/2 mile walk jog. Should i try and get another 4 min. in after the walk? I don't know that i could yet but should i strive for that?

It's a good workout but I don't know if it qualifies as HIIT. I think the 4 minute rest might be too long. Someone more experienced could possibly explain it better but my experience with HIIT is this:
A high intensity burst followed by a short rest to lower heart rate, then followed by another high intensity burst.
For example, my HIIT looks like this -
30 seconds full speed on bike
30 seconds rest
30 seconds full speed on Versa climber
30 seconds rest
30 seconds doing med ball slams
60 second rest
repeat 8 times0 -
it's a 10 sec rest and a total of 4 minutes of the workout. So two sets of each thing, 20 on 10 rest.0
