New running form

So it's pretty well known that running with heel landing first is no good, right? I've been running like that for a while.

I'm trying to start running on the balls of my feet more. It's a weird feeling for sure, but after my 3 mile run last night, my knee actually felt a lot less sore.

I try to run almost flat footed as the arch is designed to take the impact.

I got the new five toe vibram shoes and it forces you to run completely opposite than how what I am used to. My blog about the best running shoes is fun to read http://www.woodburywisdom.com/fitness/running-shoes-i-like-best/ and I did get foot soreness but I read to be patient for a breaking in period. A treadmill is the perfect way to break in your feet and I got one for a really awesome deal. If you are interested go to http://www.treadmillcomparison.com and check them out.

I've toyed with changing my stride, but I've arrived at an "if it's not broke, don't fix it" approach.

I log lots of miles and can run pretty fast despite my heel striking, so that's good enough for me.

In my profile pics you can see me heel striking my way to a 1:28:48 half marathon over the summer.
