I've been hitting this really hard since May and at first this was a HUGE struggle for me. But now it's becoming more and more routine. I still cheat from time to time but I'm smart about cheating and try and go a more healthy route.

People often stop me and ask me what I'm doing to lose the weight.. It always makes me laugh because my response is of course, eating better and exercising more and they always get disappointed. Imagine that!! Just like we've been told all along. But it's like they were expecting the name of a pill or some amazing fad diet or something. Basically a short cut. There are no short cuts, at least not any that last long term.

When people ask me how I do it I say "The hard way, I move my butt more and put less food in my pie hole" They don't like that LOL.
  • LMAO!!! I love that!! I'm going to have to remember that one!!

EVERYONE always wants to think that there is some amazing EASY way to do this... If there were one, we would ALL be thin and trim hahahaha

at my last physical, my doctor was shocked at the weight I had lost since my last visit (the prior year). He asked how I did it..I told him, WW - portion control & exercise. He said "You did it the HARD way. You wouldn't believe how many patients want me to prescribe meds to make them lose weight."

That was probably one of the highest compliments that I have gotten.

Busting *kitten* in the gym and going to bed hungry isn't an answer most people want to hear.

    more people should read this.
  • People definitely don't like to hear that you have to work hard for it. There was one girl that didn't believe me. She accused me of holding back on telling her the name of the medication I was taking because I didn't want anyone else to lose weight too. I just laughed at her and walked off. I guess it really is hard to believe lol!
  • There are certainly no magic pills to lose the weight, but there are always things that help alongside a diet. I think I speak for a lot of us when I say many try medications out to see if they do work. I know I was one of those.
  • Agreed! I've tried just about everything under the sun. If I do manage to lose weight, I'd gain it right back. Eating right and exercise is the tried and true method. I never say diet and exercise because it's not a "diet" for me. I've made a decision to eat this way for the rest of my life. It's a lifestyle change.

I would have told her the name of the medication is endorphins. Let her figure out the rest.
  • Good one!! Or blood, sweat and tears haha!!
  • A pill, a magic diet plan, a magic machine will never work...always weight management and fitness plan:) Anyone who asks me always kind of looks disappointed it can't be easier. But I try to tell them, after awhile, it isn't that hard. (Well of course it can be at times...but I think I just consider it a lifestyle and not a sacrifice)

There is so a magic pill! It's called hard work, and it's a bitter and difficult pill for a lot of people to swallow.
  • Exactly! People just amaze me! And what amazes me even more... I used to think that way too lol

And the other thing people don't like to hear is that you have to KEEP ON eating less and moving more.
That's depressing for all of us!

I love when people ask me how I've done it.....They get really disappointed when I tell them I bust my *kitten* and log every bite that crosses my lips.....Then they ask me to give them some of my motivation....They don't like it when I tell them that only they can motivate themselves...Noone motivates me except for myself....I tell them that this weightloss journey to "onederland" is something that I want badly enough that I'm willing to do anything for it...I tell they that they have to want it for themselves and work for it before they're gonna get it....It's not just gonna come to them because they wish it would

Me too! It was just a few months ago I had my "revelation" that if im going to do this for real, there is no quick fix and no crash diet. This is a life-style change. Im in it to win it this time. I will be one of those people that the crash dieters look up to. I think that is the bench mark you have to cross to become truly successful in your weight loss.
  • There have been a couple of people I work with that are doing that HG something or other diet where they're only eating 500 calories a day?!?!?! I just keep thinking, you look great but it's all going to come right back when you're off it. There is one lady that's almost "competing" with me on weight loss that is doing that diet, I'm only competing with myself but we'll see where we both are 6 months from now, I've changed my lifestyle, so I'll be good, but I doubt she will be.
