NSV - Good, Bad and Ugly

Options
I tripped at work yesterday and went to the OCC/MED Clinic today because my wrist is swollen. During the interview the Dr asked about a note he saw in my record....something about morbidly obese in Dec 2010. He looked confused. I have dropped nearly 80 pounds since I was there last. (NSV)

He praised me for the changes I've made in my life and the progress I've made. We talked about the cholesterol medicine - no longer needed, high blood pressure - which was great today, the exercise I've been doing, and the sleep problems - that have vanished. (the GOOD.)

He thinks I broke something and I have to go see a specialist Monday to confirm. (the BAD)

I may not be able to do any strength training for 6-8 weeks. (the UGLY!!)

Keep strength training. You can concentrate on your legs and core. If they give you a cast, ask for a really heavy one and use it like a dumbbell!

    That is wonderful news! Congrats.

I hear that the risk of injury is far less harmful than the risk of inactivity. A broken wrist is easier to heal than a clogged artery.

You should be proud. Even if you do have to stop lifting for 8 weeks, you can always get right back on track when it's over. Maybe you can do some squats with just your body weight for awhile.

Just be careful with your form. Warm up, cool down and be sure to stretch when working out.
