Take 2 whole-grain Ak-Mak crackers
spread about 1 tsp. of Contadina pizza-squeeze on each
chose your heathly topping (I like halved-cherry tomatoes and green pepper)
Sprinkle with some 2% shredded cheese
Broil for 4-5 min in toaster oven

Abracadabra, you got yourself a mini pizza snack for approx 120 calories and about 1g. of fat (depending on what you choose as your toppings) Plus the whole-grain crackers are complex carbs so they will leave you full longer and are better for your body.

  • yum yum going to give this one a try i LOVE:heart: pizza
  • I do a variation on this with 1/2 whole wheat pita round, spread with one wedge of Laughing Cow cheese (garlic and herb) then the pizza sauce and toppings, then the low-fat shredded mozzarella. Comes out to 4 Weight Watcher points.

Something that I do is an English Muffin Pizza. I generally eat two or three and make a meal out of it though.

1 half English Muffin (I buy the Thomas 100 calorie ones)
    1 tsp of Pizza Sauce
    1/3 cup of Shredded Cheese
    4 pepperonis

Cut a muffin in half. Spread on pizza sauce and then top with cheese and pepperoni. Bake or heat in the microwave until the cheese is melted.

    One Pizza is 200 calories.

I'm personally a fan of tortilla pizzas. Whole wheat, of course. I grew up with my Mom making them in the toaster oven (totally not whole wheat or low fat cheese, though!) so it's my "comfort" food! I'll use leftover spaghetti sauce sometimes, too! Great, now I want one and that's not what I planned for dinner!

    We do portobello pizza:

Use a slice of a portobello mushroom as your base, add pizza sauce and whatever kind of cheese you like. I recommend getting the mushroom slightly dried out before you start, as it can be a bit messy (excess water with pizza sauce trying to balance on top) but it's soooo yummy!! I bet it'd be great with Laughing Cow herb...

Hormel makes a turkey peperoni that is lower fat than regular peperoni's. then, if you dice a couple up and sprinkle them on the pizza, you'll be surprized at how much taste you can get, while minimizing calories.

This has been a staple in our house forever, my kids love them! I buy whole wheat english muffins and make my own sauce. These freeze beautifully and reheat in seconds!

I have a question, I'm weird when it comes to eating pizza. I take off all the cheese and just eat the bread and sauce.......NOW how would you enter that into the food diary???

I would enter the bread and the sauce seperately. THat's what I do with alot of stuff that I eat.

Good.....now how do I figure that out from places like Pizza Hut and Frozen Pizza??

Hmmm, that's a good one, I have no idea. Maybe add the pizza as it is from the list, and then say you said half of the serving? Since there is alot of cheese on pizza, I would assume that half the calories would be in the topping, but I'm not sure. Either way, it's better to overestimate how many calories you took in, than underestimate.
