Heart Rate Monitors?

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but any heart rate monitor recommendations? I definitely can't afford spending tons of money on one (poor college graduate), but I just wanted to see opinions.. Thanks guys!

    I just got a Polar FT7 at Amazon for about $75. Kinda pricey for me, but I love it. I originally got a Timex but returned it right away because it seemed very inaccurate (it didn't ask for my height or my age).

    Oi, I'm glad I found this HRM thread what with Christmas coming up and all. I looked on Amazon at the Polar FT7 and, well, it looks like a watch. My question is, does it measure your wrist's pulse or is there a chest strap that comes with it?

    More importantly, does it take your age, sex, weight, and such into consideration when calculating your heart rate?
