Lmao @ my co-worker who think she knows sooo much, I worked out on my lunch break, and ate my baked fish and veggies after to refuel. She says "I seriously doubt you're going to lose any weight, cause you just got done working out and you're already eating", lol if she only knew...I wanna say shut it lady I think I know what I'm doing...but I just smile and nod thinking I'll show her!!
What's some of the annoying comments you've encountered during your weight loss journey?

Oh, I have the know it all husband. The one who has never been overweight a day in his life but can tell you exactly how to lose weight and exercise. It is soooooo annoying. I have been doing so much better with my diet since he is not hounding me everyday.0

LOL. Where's the 'like' button?
I have a coworker that thinks I'm starving myself. *sigh* I'm not, but she never sees me eat lunch in the cafeteria (I pack my lunch now) and I've stopped partaking in all of the foods and treats on the breakroom table (read: cakes, donuts, pastries, chocolate).
. . . but she never seems to notice when I help myself to the cherry tomatoes, the pineapple slices, the apples, the oranges on the breakroom table.
People see what they want. They think what they want. We just gotta block them out and keep on keepin' on.0 -
Yep, i loveit! I have one colleague who told me they were amazed at my weight loss, asked me how i did it, then whe. I told them, then they argued that it wouldn't work! Hilarious.0

Hint: If it's been done, then it's possible.0 -

I have a co-worker like this..I go to our gym upstairs during lunch get in a quick mile on the tredmill or the eliptical then come back down and eat my lunch people think im crazy but this is not the only work out i do during the day. and I eat super healthy too. they call it my rabbit food.0 -
I had a roomate who had the weirdest habits... she would always say stuff like "Ok girls, we really need to work on losing some weight, so you need to stop eating treats and working out more." I would be absolutely dumbfounded, since I was quite content with my weight and also the one who was exercising a ton and not eating crap in the first place.
She had some weird ideas about nutrition - for example - "Make sure you eat a lot of popcorn, that's how you get all your proteins." and "Dark chocolate doesn't have fat or calories in it, it's good for you."

People are usually very skeptic of my weight loss chances when they find out I drink chocolate milk almost daily and energy soda next to my lunch, and my dinners are beyond delicious (boyfriend makes them, he's amazing).
Also, all the little know-it-alls that keep trying to tell me to drop the weights and do hours of cardio if I want to lose weight. 'Cause muscles will only make me bulgy and keep the fat. Screw them, I've lost more weight faster by doing this, and I'm actually enjoying the gym now.
And not to mention all the misconceptions my mother has about, well, life. Raw potatoes make you skinny, not eating a large, hot dinner makes you an anorexic, stretching after a workout prevents sore muscles, eggs are bad for you and eating fat makes you fat. Sugar's fine, though. And should I dare correct her, she makes a huge gesture about how *sorry* she is that she is so wrong, and stupid, and old.. I am so glad I moved out. And away. And only home for Christmas break and part of the summer holidays.0 -
My coworkers are always saying stuff like "oh, but you can't eat that" about treats that other people bring in to work. Like hell I can't. I choose not to eat a lot of them, but one cookie once a week isn't going to undo all of my hard work. They also can't seem to work out that the difference between vegetarian and vegan, so they're always saying stuff like "oh, but that had eggs, so you can't eat that" or "oh, but that's dairy, you can't eat that". Again, like hell I can't. I eat both eggs and dairy sparingly, but I don't shun them completely, and I will not turn down a delicious, homemade cookie simply because it was made with all of the above.0

Lose the weight and steal her man - lol0

they call it my rabbit food.
My manager calls mine "gerbil food". I always offer him some, but he never accepts. I can't imagine why...0 -

*rolls eyes* Ohhh boy. I don't think I would have been able to keep my mouth shut!0 -
Double post. MFP imploded for a second, there.0

I have a co-worker. He says to me... Wow how did you do it. I told him by going to the gym and counting my calories... from there he goes through 50 other things I should have done instead... like give up meat...
I just told him... well I lost over 80lbs so I will stick with what I am doing!0 -
It makes me laugh at work when people make a big show of hiding the chocolate to "help"me - clearly when I see a tin of chocolates I will be forced into a mad food frenzy where I can't stop myself  (even though I used to refuse the chocolates 9 times out of 10 before I was on my lifestyle change).
Aslo they look at your plate if you are having a work buffet and tell you that "oh you are not supposed to eat that" and think they have the right to dictate how healthy eating should be done.
Or it goes the other way and they try n tell you about "their mate that was my size" and they lost all their weight by doing some meal replacement or surgery as if its the only way for large people to lose their weight and I must be mad taking such a slow way of doing it - each to their own - I don't presume to know what's best for other's so don't presume you know what's best for me. That's when the tactful smile, nod and edge away maneuver comes in handy.0 -
Oh I hate that hahaha, I just sit there and keep quiet.0

I have a co-worker who knows i'm trying to lose weight. However, this does not stop her coming to team meetings with cream cakes and sticking then right under my nose while squaking "go on, one won't hurt you".
The fact that she is type 2 diabetic and the doctor has told her to watch what she eats is also annoying the hell outta me.
Rant over.... thanks for letting me vent, lol0 -
most annoying thing i was told was by my other half a few weeks ago. i had just come back in from a run and he was stood behind me, he then proceeded to tell me that my leggings were see through and he could see my knickers. people may say that was embarassing (and it was) but what annoyed me was that he had seen me getting ready for my run and had been behind me as i left the house, so he told have told me BEFORE i ran through the local streets0

People do that to me ALL the time. The worst offender is my aunt.0 -
some people crack me up! I had similar ppl say things like that, yet after I lost over 150lbs they never said a word since!
Tho as of late my brother in law and his wife went vegan and they been trying to get hubby & I do the same since there dropping weight like crazy.... though I told them I lost 6lbs in a month eating whatever I want lol
then they just talk about how meat/milk etc are so bad for you ..... they just wont stop!0 -
For me, it's the skeptical looks I get when I tell people that I've been eating whatever I want- it's all about portion control and counting calories. I think they think I'm either lying or purging or something. But, the truth is my portions of heavy calorie foods were always high in the past- two cups of mac and cheese, please- and my portions of healthy food were small- "just a half cup of salad, please". Now, I make better overall choices which means if I choose I can have the cookie, but I'll probably just get a small coffee with cream at Starbucks and not one of their more flavorful creations.0

I give you credit for successfully managing a healthy lifestyle at work and ignoring the clueless. The people at my job know better than to say anything to me. I do talk to the lady next to me who loves to do a lot of cardio and eat like a bird. I just think it's funny when she says a 6oz Chobani greek yogurt is TOO much for her! She'll say things like that and I sometimes think it's an underhanded way of telling me you eat like a pig. LOL, but then she complains about having stick legs and a big gut... so there ya go!0

My mum thinks that eggs are bad for you. /: oh gosh
OMG.....this one frustrates me soooo much. My mom tells my son (5) that eggs are bad because of all the cholesterol. Like my 5 year old has to worry about that. But she had a friend whose husband died from a heart attack and he had bacon and eggs everyday and she just knows that the eggs were a big part of that and not the bacon as much. REALLY?!?! Don't teach my kid unhealthy things. Plus they are pseudo vegan, don't give my kids enough calories or fat and they are 5 and 19 months....my kids don't need a diet!!
P.S......not against vegans but my parents do not do it in a healthy way and I believe they are grossly nutrient deficient and worry about my kids which is why next school year they are not going to be my childcare. Sorry for the vent0 -
It's like when I quit smoking earlier this year ... some of the smokers I used to hang with got jealous of my success and kept trying (in a most friendly but sneaky way) to sabotage me. They would offer me a smoke and say, "Oh, I forgot. You quit" or they would see me and amble over to smoke next to me. The same thing happens now. I'm losing weight more for health (IBS) reasons as I'm working hard to change my diet, but weight loss is a result of that and some are just jealous at how healthy I am becoming ... especially right before the holidays. I love MFP and the supportive people I encounter.0

-
I was also told that i should not cut sugar out of my tea, as you need sugar to live!
Haha0 -
I sold all my volumes of the Encyclopedia Britanica, on EBay, when I met my missus... It was surplus to requirements, as she knows everything!!0

My brother lost a lot of weight and started eating a lot healthier...and felt that he needed to comment on my food choices because of it. This was while I was successfully losing weight already! I think it was one night I ate a whole wheat cracker thing with tomato on it at 8PM and he went off on this thing about eating carbs close to bedtime. The funny part was, I was on a cycle where I would wake at noon every day and go to bed around 4-5 in the morning! This was a "mid afternoon" snack for me! I just don't like meddlers like that, as I have some deep seated issues concerning food and nutrition and my family (I've always been made to think I'm "fat" when I really wasn't before). I've moved far away from my family, and now the only person that ever comments on my nutrition and exercise is my boyfriend. He will encourage me to exercise because he knows it makes me feel better (mentally and physically) not because he thinks I'm fat (I hope!) and he never comments on calories or the quality of what I'm eating, except when he doesn't think I'm eating enough! I don't eat red meat and he really wants me to incorporate it back in because of the protein and other nutrients that you can get from it (the amino acids and stuff) but he doesn't push it. He literally just wants me to be happy and healthy (not THIN). I think co-workers should not be commenting on nutrition and exercise, it's quite rude. Does she have some type of social disorder?0
