Ok, so I can dance and I can walk on a treadmill but when I try and combine the two (see links below for what I'm talking about), I look and feel like a clumsy elephant...

Does anyone else do this? And how did you start? (and I can't afford the Tracy Anderson videos :( )

seems dangerous more than anything else..
  • since I developed heel spur and ball of foot pain on both feet, treadmill dancing is the only thing I can do. I keep up with the beat of the music I am dancing to, but I turn the speed WAY down and the incline WAY up. I may go 1.5 mph on incline of 8, but that's a slow speed that still burns lots of calories with the incline. at that slow speed i'm able to do leg kicks, knee lifts, the works. its not dangerous if the speed is very low. hope you have fun with it.
  • That's what that lady was doing the other day at my gym!!! I had no idea it was real. I can barely stay on the treadmill when I'm running at a 6.0 so I don't think I could handle dancing. lol I give credit to those who can do it and do it in public.

Wow that's pretty amazing! I did not know people could "dance" on treadmills! It does look a little dangerous though, one wrong step and you'd be in a pretty bad situation.

I think that to learn how to do it, you've have to have a slow speed and a lower incline, at least initially. Practice the steps until you had them down. It does look fun though!

I have pretty short legs so I was starting only at 3.0 mph - but I might have to go slower until I get more coordinated
