I ordered P90x for my hubby for Christmas and we plan on starting it Jan 1st. I am excited and nervous about it at the same time! I'm excited because if I stick to it I will look a whole lot better and feel better in my bathing suit for vacation but nervous that it is going to be too hard (I don't exercise much). Anyone have any advice or some suggestions on equipment or protein/ whey powders?

Make sure you have all the equipment and are set up properly before you start. I tried to make due with what I had at the time and I got super frustrated and ended up quitting after 3 weeks.

what all do i need for equipment? I am getting a pull up bar and we have push up paddles.
  • Congradulations! You'll both love it! Just remember to keep going and not to get discouraged if you can't keep up in the begining...eventually you'll be able to out do the people on the dvds!
As far as a good whey protein, I have found the Dymatize and the Optimum Nutrition brands to be the best. I wouldn't bother w/ the P90X recovery drink...does taste great, but is expensive and you can get "a lot more bang for your buck" off the store shelves.

P90x is very good but don't be surprised if you can't keep up. It totally kicked my butt for the first couple of weeks, and i thought i was in shape. But just like Tony says you have a pause button. Good luck and remember to always persevere.
