Sara Lee Iron Kids White Bread...Weird Smell?

For the past week, I've been eating Sara Lee Iron Kids bread whenever I take a sandwich to school. We got a new loaf a couple of days ago, and I ate another sandwich. Later that day, my mom was eating one and all of a sudden had this repulsed look on her face and said the bread smelled horrible and refused to eat it. I sniffed it, and the bread really does smell weird. It tasted fine, but I was wondering if anyone else uses this bread and if they have noticed a strange smell. I don't know if it's a bad loaf (though it's in date) or if it is just because of the higher amounts of iron and calcium and whatnot.

When in doubt I throw it away
  • smell and taste go together. They both indicate that there is something wrong. Funny smell= something is wrong.
Get yourself a fresh package and check how it smells.

If you did not smell it with the other loaf toss this on or take it back to the store and see if they will give you a new loaf.

I used to work at a bread factory. It's not the brand, it is your loaf. Throw it away.

I use it from time to time, the loaf I have right now is fine. I would take it back or toss it. Any chance the bread was being kept next to something with a strong odor?
  • It wasn't kept next to a strong odor or anything. I'll just throw it out to be safe. Thanks for your opinions. :)

Throw it out and buy healthy whole-grain bread instead ;)
