Too much sodium will cause you to retain water and not to mention what other health risks it has.
Try to stay within the recommended 2300 a day. Canned and processed foods are loaded with sodium so try to cook clean whole food as much as possible.0 -
my nutrition coach says sodium is a huge part and to stay under 2000mg daily...soups are so full of sodium I try to stay away from them but I know what you mean about needing easy meal ideas! The healthy choice or healthy request soups are supposed to be lower in sodium...0

If you want to eat Progresso, they make both a Low Sodium, and Light version of their soups.
The originals are just way too many cals, and packed with sodium.0 -

Definately what he said. I love progresso light soup and have them at least 4x a week! I've been losing 1-2 lbs a week.0 -
You also can make your own soups at home with all of the things you love to eat and you control the amount of sodium. Make a big batch one afternoon on the weekend and freeze it in individual serving containers for the week. So much better for you and super fast.0

Ya Progresso soups are a staple to my diet as well, but I watch the labels and only get the ones that are low in calories and low in sodium. The low sodium ones are still pretty high in sodium, though, and if you are like me and eat the whole can, it will amount to almost half of your daily sodium in just that can. I just don't have the time or luxury to make my own, and it is an easy lunch for me.0

I have to stay on low sodium eating. Anything packaged or canned is a huge no no. You should always be hyper aware how much sodium you are taking in because it does make you retain water, fluxes your blood pressure etc. The numbers vary from 2000 to about 2600 your food journal should show you make sure to track that one. With soups even the low sodium are still very high, it's best to try to make your own at home and soups are pretty simple. I love to have at least one lunch round a week with leftovers for a soup! You can play with the flavors and have fun and the best you don't even have to add salt just lots of herbs and spices.0
