I don't know if anyone is familar with the Body for Life Challenge. It's a 12 week excercise and diet program. You can find the entire program at www.bodyforlife.com so there is no need to buy the book, or journal unless you really want too! I like eating and excerise programs I don't have to buy a DVD or new book. The idea is you workout 6 days a week, 3 cardio, 3 strength training, with one day off. It's very easy to follow and I like the guidance so I know what I'm doing in the gym. I started this program several months back and had a lot of success but stopped because I decided I want to run the Nashville 1/2 Marathon and needed to focus my exercise routine to that training.

Going to start the program on Monday. Anyone want to join me? This is a real challenge and if you submit your photos and everything there are some great prizes! Thought it would be fun to have some MFP friends along for the journey. Thinking we could check in once a week or something.

Good Luck!

I tried it once and it worked great, but It was too hard to me to continue. It's a great program, and I have used a lot of the info in my dieting.

    Good luck.

Glad to see someone is wanting to join me on this workout challenge! I can go to the gym and waste 2 hours doing nothing so I'm excited to start this and get some direction! I'm going to need some motivation to keep me going for 12 weeks!

The website is very inspirational. I had a friend do this. She did 2 12 week segments back to back and has a rockin body now and she was about 70 pounds overweight.

I'm starting with cardio on Monday since on Monday's I have to go out of town for work and I don't get back until after 7:00 I don't want to be at the gym all night. Hard to make excuses not to go when you only have to do cardio for 20 minutes.

I told my friend I was doing this and her advise was, if you don't have time to do a weight lifting day, don't just skip, do the 20 minutes of cardio instead, somethings better than nothing! She also said to print off the calendar of the 12 weeks so you can make them off as you do them.

Good Luck and I hope others decide to join us!

Well almost done with the 1st week. How did it go? Aside from the fact that every muscle in my body aches I'm doing great! Last night was cardio, but my sweetie wanted to go golf so I insisted that we walk. We only go through 9 holes but burned about 500 calories so it was fun. I was suppose to do lower body but my schedule got all messed up earlier in the week so it looks like I'll only be working out 5 days this week, leaving out a weight lifting but as sore as I am I'm OK with that. Wonder if it makes any difference if my free day of food and free day of exercise has to be in the same day. It's easy for me to get up on Saturday and workout but then we usually go out on Saturday night so I would like it to be my free day not sunday but on sunday's have always been our lazy day.

Are you thinking about doing this challenge? We've only been at it for one week and I forgot to take my before picture until today so I think Monday might be my new start date and this week was just practice. Anyway, to help you out go to
    www.bodyforlife.com
At the top your see different topics to click on Home/Food and Recipes/Exercise/Products/Success Stories/Etc. Click on Exercise
On the left you'll see Exercise Journal-click on that
You have 2 spots to find it. I like PDF Formal Daily Progress Reports--Click on that. It has everything you need. I like to print off the sheets so I can take them with me to the gym.

If you would like to save them and be able to type in it, Use instead Excel Training for Experience MS Excel Spreadsheet. If you need anymore help just ask!

I've been reading a success story a day and this is great motivation. These people have rockin bodies!

Thanks, I'm thinking about it. I've been stalled since January. And now, have a cruise we're going on August 29. I'm thinking 12 week challenge might just give me the kick in the hinder I need. Gives me about 16 weeks to look as bangin' as I can!
