Looking for different kinds of tea to drink!

I love pretty much all kinds of tea with the exception of green tea. I usually drink Earl Grey tea, which is black tea with some orange and floral notes. Other than that, just plain old black tea. I was hoping that I could get some suggestions from any tea drinkers out there for some new teas to try :) I'd also be open to things that aren't exactly made from tea leaves, like herbal teas or floral ones. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

ETA: I realize that I could just Google "different types of tea" but I want answers from real-live people that are trying to stay healthy like me :P

I drink bigelow blueberry green tea a lot. Even if you dont like green tea, the blueberry overpowers the flavor and it is so good!

I'm hooked on chai tea, I have several different varieties at home. If you're just looking for tea bags, Stash or Tazo are my favorites, but if you want loose teas, Teavana has so many different choices

  • Hi...... I'm new here (today, 12/04/11). My name is Wick, a nickname since birth. Right at the moment I am drinking Choice Organic Oolong Tea (hot). I drink all kinds of hot tea. Living in Florida , where it's quite hot at times, I've just started drinking Ice Tea, as well. I had read a while ago that Oolong was drunk by those looking to lose weight. When I tried it for the first time, I found it had a soothing, fresh flavor and it was perfect as an afternoon tea, so it has become a favorite of mine. I drink a great deal of Green Tea, also; however I found Salada to be very bitter , so I stick mainly to Bigelow, Stash, Tazo and Twinning Teas. For old- fashion Southern Iced Tea, I use Lipton tea bags as my husband's Southern five- generation family has used.

I drink a lot of herbal infusions. Mixed berry, blueberry, cranberry and pomegranate, mint and spice, vanilla rooibos, rooibos chai, and apple comprise my current herbal infusion stash. All tasty with no caffiene and stuff all calories.

I am a huge fan of Yogi Egyptian Licorice teas. A lot of licorice teas are cloying and grassy, but this has other spices and is really well-balanced. Nice natural sweetness from the licorice too. It is great for digestion.

Good Earth sweet and spicy is my absolute favorite comes in caffeinated and decaf, doesn't require any sweeteners.
  • If you like green tea, matcha green tea (powdered green tea) mixed with almond milk and honey is delish (google the benefits of matcha green tea--simply amazing overall healthy beverage and mega antioxidant over bagged green tea)!

My favorites are Lipton Chai, Stash Ginger Peach Green Tea, and my go-to tea nearly every day is orange pekoe, with a lemon wedge, and a packet of stevia.

Not sure how you feel about sucralose sweetener... I usually drink tea unsweetened, but I make an exception for chai.

Heat 2 cups milk and 2 packets (yep) of sucralose in a mug in the microwave, stirring every minute until it boils.

Steep two teabags of Celestial Seasonings Chai (I use it because I need decaf because of migraines).

To die for, and rather nutritious as long as you don't object to artificial sweeteners. This is equivalent to 4 tsp of sugar, so it would be an extra 60 calories with regular table sugar.

I just started drinking Rishi Earl Grey Rooibos tea (technically its an herb but brewed the same as tea). Its naturally decaffeinated and has a hint of citrus. Loose leaf white tea is also a good option.
  • Monk Pear, or Camomile! Not sure where your from but Australia has a tea range called "T2" which has fantastic varieties! They had a choc chip tea which you had with soy milk which tasted like heaven- oh and mint slice tea! So yummy- but their fruit teas are phenomenal too!
  • I buy the Bigelow box with the variety of teas. I drink a lot of chamomile tea, mints, peach, blueberry, orange spice, etc. It has replaced my coffee drinking. Oh, and lemon zest tea from bigelow I think it is. Ammaazzzzinngg.

I drink it hot. I don't like ice tea. Ever.

I drink healtheries or twinings range of herbal teas. At the moment I'm drinking healtheries be charged tea with ginseng vanilla and blackcurrant, twinings sweet fennel tea and chamomile tea. Another favourite of mine is rosehips and hibiscus. I don't like adding sweeteners but if I feels like sweetening it up a bit I just add a teaspoon of honey. I usually choose the ones that are going to provide a boost or help relax or even aid digestion depending on my mood there are just so many different varieties to choose!

Have you concidered looking at non-commercial teas? Rose Hips make a good tea and are very high in Vitamin C. Honeysuckle tea (brew washed fllowers in a tea ball... add a little stevia) contain an antiviral, I'm told. You can grow your own Chamomile, which is very relaxing. Garden mints (peppermint, spearmint, chocolate mint, etc.) brew up nicely... again, use a tea ball... and have a carmitive effect. Mint is also good for colds, as the menthol breaks up congestion. Most fruit peels make a nice tea. Some will require Stevia, to taste. (Especially citrus).
