I just had my first glass (half cup) of egg-nog of the season. I chose low fat and all i can say is YUCK. it taste like milk with a lot of added sugar in it. I have noticed that since I started watching what i put in my mouth and trying to eat healthy all the things i use to enjoy really doesn't taste as good as i thought it did. Has anyone else experienced that?

Actually I think the full-fat eggnog is nasty and fatty tasting - but I like the light eggnog!

I agree that since I have taken a healrhier path foods I used to LOVE do not taste the same. That like you everything seems to taste different and I do not enjoy them even when I do eat them. I do have some eggnog in the frig but I only drink a mouth full in the morning when I take my pills (medicine). Normally I drink Kelloggs protein drinks (same way). Silly really but can not swallow pills unless I have something thick to help it down. But like you id does not taste that great anymore. :)

I always thought full fat egg nog was just so thick and discusting and had to water it down with skim milk anyway to make it edible so low fat would be great for me.

I just tried soy nog though and it's freaking fantastic!!!!

I have been thinking about other things I eat, it's not just the eggnog that doesn't taste the same. most things are way too salty or sweet. though I still find my self eating them. I have lost 23 pounds since Sept 3rd and have done real well with my calorie intake until recently and i cant blame it on the holidays because nothing is different I haven't gone to any holiday party's nor does anyone bring anything in to work it is just me falling into my old habit of giving into my cravings. i did okay today and i plan on doing well tomorrow and that is all i can do take one day at a time.

I advocate the Silk Soy Egg Nog. It's incredible.
If you want to make it at home, buy some almond milk and mix it with some coconut milk, add in your nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger. Mix well, cook together if you'd like it warm. Add liquid stevia or some brown sugar to taste; I like it without sugar.
No animal products and (I think) tastes fresher. :)

Just looking at cupcakes with icing now, makes my tummy hurt from the thought of all the sugar!
