Hi All:happy:
I have been here almost a week now and have found alot of support and encouragement. I am finding it helps me to stay motivated and on track knowing I am logging my food for all to see and it helps keep me honest. I have ALOT of weight to lose. I am 5'2'' and weigh currently 314,started MFP at 325. A high healthy weight for me is 135 so that is almost 200 pounds I need to lose which can be overwhelming. I would love to have friends who can understand how it feels to have that much to lose. Either those who have to lose alot or already have that we can help and be an encouragement to one another. I love all the friends I made whether they have to lose 10 pounds or 200 pounds, I just wanted to make more friends that understand the task of taking on such a large weight loss journey. SO send me friend requests or I can send you all one.

I'm new and have 150+ pounds to lose! You've done great so far!0

I was JUST trying to make a post just like this! But my internet is acting up, and it keeps deleting. Right now, my goal is 80, to get out of 200. But In the end, I want to lose a total of 100, if not a little more. I haven't seen 180 since 6th grade. I was 240 in high school, and after meeting and moving in with my boyfriend, I gained another 30-40! I saw that I was getting close to 300, and I said "NO NO NO!" And started IMMEDIATELY on my life-style change. I wish everyone luck, and anyone is welcome to add me! I try to be a great motivator!0

here are a few tips that I found to work for me:
1. Make MFP yoru home page
2. Log in EVERYDAY, read the message boards post.. Keep your mind actively thinking about it.
3. Don't try to change too much at once, Implement 1 change every week or so. Little tweeks over time seem to work best or at least better than but load of change all at once
4. Always be honest. We al fall on our way to the top, be honest, no one is judging you here... we all support eachother
5. Keep trying new things until you find what works for you (It took me a while to find my plan and it works great for me but I wouldn't push it on anyone else)
6. Its easier to lift weights than the burdens of carrying weight.
7. take it one day at a time.
8. Have a cheat day or meal, where you eat what you want
9. Try to talk to yourself as if you are talking to your child or loved one. Often times the thing we need most is to be a better friend to ourselves.

Definitely can add me if you'd like I started with 120lbs to lose and now still have 50lbs left. I could use the motivation myself too. I've sent a friend request, in fact anyone on here who would like another friend feel free to add me so we can help keep everyone motivated and going forward0

Hey all,
From one "need to lose 100 lbs" person to others: do yourself a favor and buy a scale that will measure your actual pounds of fat (there's a digital Weight Watchers scale that does this; about $50). You will be AMAZED when you realize that you have less fat to lose than you think.
Ex: are you 200 lbs over your ideal body weight? Guarantee that some of those 200 pounds are bone and muscle. Probably at least 30. (Your body will build both bone and muscle mass to support the extra weight, and most folks with 100+ to lose have been overweight long enough for that to happen.) So unless you're not planning on doing any exercise at all or you're eating minimal protein -- and thus losing muscle as you lose weight -- you'll probably be pretty happy in the 160-170 range. Once you get there, getting down to the "normal" BMI range will probably be a challenge, since you'll need to lose LEAN mass to do it successfully. Unless, of course, you're shooting for 8% body fat.0 -
Hey! I just started back here two days ago and this is actually the first time I'm posting because I have felt too embarressed to reply on other posts where everyone is under 200 pounds. I am 240 pounds now and I want to be about 135ish when this is all over, so I want to lose just over 100 pounds. I haven never been skinny but I finally want to put a stop to my unhealthy life style and change my life around. I can't recognize myself in photos anymore and I hate it! You can add me if you want since we have similar weight goals, but I have to warn you, I might be shy at first and then hyper when you get to know me, but I will always try my best to be encouraging. Good luck to everyone!0
