I joined MFP so long ago that I do not remember and only used it for a weight ticker for nutrisystem. How stupid right? I know. So, now I am fully using the site how ever many years later, long after giving up on nutrisystem.

The doctor says I have to lose at least 22lbs in 3 months and I just happened to come here to track my weight again and found all of the amazing tools. I look forward to learning more about the community, tools, and everything MFP has to offer.

I absolutely love the mobile app for MFP, the scanner is the best thing ever!!

  • Well hello. I'd love to join you on your weight loss journey and be some support to you. I've lost 75lbs so far but I did so without really focusing on getting healthy and I smoked a over a pack of cigarettes a day. Now I've plateaued in my weight and recently quit smoking. I want to get serious about my health and finish getting this weight off that I gained over 5 years ago. I realized that being overweight is a choice, whether I want to see it that way or not. The only person that can get me where I need to be is me so I've got to do what it takes to get healthy, fit and being smoking hot won't hurt. Lol

    Hi

May be a silly question but why 22lbs in 3 months?

Well, richx83... I have other ailments that have cropped up since gaining 70lbs over the last 6 years. I have lost weight gradually at about .8lbs a month; however, my doctor would like to prevent increasing dosages on medicine and I would as well. So, he suggests losing the weight faster, which may not always be the healthiest but between the two evils, losing weight faster over taking more medicine he suggests weight loss and I agree.

He also suggested a wheat-free diet, not because I have a illness that requires it but because he thinks wheat may be a large cause of many illnesses. I am reading a book called Wheat Belly that goes into depth on this ideology and it seems to make sense. I have been virtually wheat free for 9 days and feel and see a difference. So, I might finally be on the right track to reducing my medication instead of increasing it.
