I know its important to get exercise in no matter what, but does the time of day matter at all?

Like is it more beneficial to excercise in the morning, or at night? or doesn't it matter at all as long as you're getting it in? i'm just curious

im a member of curves, and the days that i go there i go in the evening after dinner. but days that i don't go to curves i do turbo jam or another vid like that and i do it in the morning before breakfast

I don't think it matters - as long as you continue with it.

You'll get lots of answers to this question - but I always fall back on what songbirdsweet said once - just do it. Whenever you can fit it into your schedule so you will do it is the best time for you! Have fun :drinker:

I agree that you should go whenever is best for you, but my husband told me once that I should exercise in the early morning, this way I am burning calories before I have consumed so many during the day. I of course have a piece of fruit or yogurt before I work out, just to make sure I have lots of energy to keep up with my routine...but Ive also noticed that when I workout in the early morning, I have so much more energy during the day :)
  • I have read in several places that exercising in the morning boosts your metabolism throughout the day. But the articles have gone on to say that if you are unable or unwilling to exercise in the morning it isn't the end of the world either. Exercise when you can, even if that means 10 minute intervals 3 times a day. The fact that you exercise is more important then when you exercise.
