Grammie reached her first goal

Whoo-Hoo! Just had to "crow" a little as I'm still a bit amazed at the goodness of God... I reached my FIRST GOAL of wanting to be able to hike uphill in the mountains with my Grandbuddies. The day before Thanksgiving I took them all sledding, walked the mile+ together, trotted up and down the hillside (@elevation 6900) and was not at all winded, weak-jointed, or experiencing the ol' too-familiar chest pains. WOW! I must admit, Grammie got a little teary when she realized she was actually pulling off her first goal (climb hills to pick wildflowers & watch sunsets with my grandchildren)...and even though it was snowy and there were no wildflowers, I rejoiced at what the grace of God in my heart and body has done. He's enabled me to start walking and keep walking: I'm now averaging 11-15 miles per week now, including hills and level, and it's paid off. I feel well. My heart is stronger than ever, and I hope by spring to be fit enough to be able to reduce my load of BP meds, go jet-skiing w/ my precious family, and maybe... just maybe, with the grace and help of God, to hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back up again in 2013. ( In 2006 I had LVH too badly to even muster a day hike) So now ya' know why 52 yr old Grammie just had to "crow."

As another Christian grandma who is losing weight and off medications now, I'm very happy for you. Having the strength and endurance to keep up with the grandkids is a wonderful feeling! I'm with you on that. God is so good! I know He is responsible for directing me to this website and helping me be successful.
