Odd question...

This may seem like an odd question, but I'm going to ask it anyway.

I'm 5'4", and my starting weight was 210. I've always felt short and dumpy. I've now lost 26 pounds and am finding myself not feeling as dumpy, for sure, but the odd thing is that I FEEL taller. I know I'm not, but I FEEL like I am. Maybe I'm carrying myself differently (more confidence, less weight pulling me down...who knows?).

Anyone else feel taller since losing weight?

I am 5'2 and when I feel confident I always feel taller...which may be because of posture, carrying myself better with the confidence!

    LMBO!!! YES!!!
  • That's funny! My 6 year old actually told me I have gotten taller since I started losing weight. Has to be better posture.

I think slimming down makes you look taller. You're more vertical and less horizontal! :-) It may be an optical illusion, but it's a good one! Improved posture helps a lot, too.

After losing some weight and also starting an exercise routine, I feel taller too. I agree w/ pp's it's all about posture and also self-image. If you feel better about yourself, you present yourself differently and can feel it in the way you stand and walk around. Back when I was heavier I was slumped over all the time. Now especially when I'm driving in my car I notice that I sit up straight instead of slumping and it makes me feel taller even though I'm not. LOL

Thanks for the responses...glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing that little "perk"! I just suddenly realized that I felt taller, even though I know in my head that wasn't possible. Just an added benefit I guess!
