New here - need motivation :)

Hello hello;
I am new to MFP (and am already in fu*king love) and am looking for motivators, friends, and those who need to be motivated.
I am a 20 yr old college gal standing shorts at 5'2'' and looking to lose about 50 pounds. Current weight is 180lbs.
I am relatively athletic, but I have been holding onto this extra jiggle for as long as I can remember. It is time to change. It is time to be healthier, it is time to be happier.
If you feel inclined; let's be friends. Anyone. Any age. Any background. Whether you're looking to lose lbs or are a star marathoner. I am open to hearing your story and using it as motivation.

here are a few tips that I found to work for me:
1. Make MFP yoru home page
2. Log in EVERYDAY, read the message boards post.. Keep your mind actively thinking about it.
3. Don't try to change too much at once, Implement 1 change every week or so. Little tweeks over time seem to work best or at least better than but load of change all at once
4. Always be honest. We al fall on our way to the top, be honest, no one is judging you here... we all support eachother
5. Keep trying new things until you find what works for you (It took me a while to find my plan and it works great for me but I wouldn't push it on anyone else)
6. Its easier to lift weights than the burdens of carrying weight.
7. take it one day at a time.
8. Have a cheat day or meal, where you eat what you want
9. Try to talk to yourself as if you are talking to your child or loved one. Often times the thing we need most is to be a better friend to ourselves.

I am new and need motivation and friends. Basically I have started my food diary and I think it is at least making me think more about what I put in my mouth. Now if I could really get motivated, maybe I could get real progress going. BTW , would love to hear from someone with RA who is making progress. I am 57 yr. old married female who has slowly over the past 20 years gotten sedentary and fat and I need to dig out of this hole. I appreciate your time and help.0

I'm new here too, and 26, and have a similar journey as you. Started at 180, want to get to 130. This past year I made it down into the 150s but its getting harder to stay motivated for the last 25. U can add me if u like.0
