I got sick with Pneumonia last month and it put me out of commission for about three weeks, i took it easy another week to make sure my recovery was not hindered. Now that i am trying to get back on the saddle again it feels as if i have just started over again. i am not meeting the calorie goals per workout my body aches like a newbie all over again and it seems like my body forgot that it was in weight loss mode because i am gaining back the weight i lost while sick very quickly. ugh! kinda frustrating. i guess i am just venting. gotta get that.....gotta get that......

Unfortunately, it only takes about two weeks of inactivity for the body to return to that beginner state. My guess would be that you will ramp back up faster than before though, since you probably still have extra underlying muscle tissue you didn't have before. Don't expect to be right where you were when you left off. You will have to build back up a bit, but if you keep pushing yourself, you will get there soon. Good luck!

Don't get discouraged.... you had 8 months of success. Just do what you know you should and you will be back on track in no time

It's hard now, but you'll get back in shape faster this time than you did before. You may want to reduce your weight or the intensity of your cardio for a few days until you're feeling strong again. Give it a few days and before you know it you'll be back to normal.
