I would advise you only to get it from a doctor, nowhere online or from a store, go to a doctor that is licensed to track your progress. I have family that lost about 40lbs(might be more or a tiny bit less) and she has kept it off and has actually continued losing. I never told her its a bad idea because she needed to do it for herself. Everyone does this their own way, some people have had great success, others not so much. Personally, its too expensive for me and I'm not comfortable taking any kind of pills or shots or anything to aid me. Good luck!!!

Even then, very low calorie diets should only be prescribed for very obese patients. Someone with less than 20 pounds to lose will not be recommended for this diet unless the doctor is a quack looking for a quick buck.
  • I've never bought any, but I've heard that there are several kinds available at GNC. The people working there usually know which is better. You may find a brand you like there, then look for the same brand online for a better price.

A friend of a friend has lost tons of weight using HCG. She was really, really big when she started. Before, she was too big to find clothes in most stores, even places like Lane Bryant and Catherines. Now she is a more common, easier-to-fit size.

^^^^^ This is fake stuff. The real stuff is Rx only. There's your answer. Not what you wanted to hear. I won't tell you all the bad stuff about it.

Free and cheap way, Get knocked up. I already stated that.
  • HCG preys on people's desperation to lose weight...and lose it fast! It is about getting healthy, lean, and strong....the healthy way! Get slim quick fads are bad for you!!!!!!!! Don't do it my friend. Hard work, dedication, and discipline is what will change your life, not HCG!

GNC sell several counterfeit products, this being one.

I have HUNDREDS of friends, who have lost 'tons' with out this silly hcg diet. I win.
  • Thanks everyone for insulting me and my intelligence. You were all so attacking and helpful that it has made me realize a few things about this site, and I don't wish to be a part of it. Peace out. Deleting my account!

    Dear Posters,

MyFitnessPal strongly recommends that our users follow the calorie guidelines automatically assigned by our site, unless they are under the direct supervision of a doctor. We are currently reviewing the medical literature on the HCG/500 calorie diet and reserve the right to moderate against discussions of this diet at any time in the future.

Please remember that even in Groups, all site wide rules must be correctly moderated, or the Group runs the risk of deletion. Specifically, endorsement of purchasing prescription supplements or medications without a prescription is in violation of the MyFitnessPal posting guidelines, which can be reviewed here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/welcome/guidelines

Thank you all for your concern. We're definitely looking closely at this issue.
