Hey guys!!
For me its that time of the semester. Finals! When I get stressed out I tend to eat more junk food, so for this year, I'm thinking about the opposite. I am looking for do a two weeks detox with a friend. I am pretty clueless when it comes to detox plans. Would you guys be able to share some of detoxes plan that have worked for you? Thanks a bunch in advance.

a 10 day juice fast worked well for me http://jointhereboot.com/0

I have done this one before: http://www.my7daydiet.com/quick_weight_loss_diet.html
This is only a 7 day detox but it was easy to follow and I saw results.
I have also done this one: http://www.ehow.com/how_4919846_week-detox-diet-plan.html
This one showed good results, but was a little more difficult to follow.
Good luck!0 -
I would first ask yourself this:
What do you expect this detox to do for you and why are you doing it?0 -
My suggestion? Read the facts on "detoxing": http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/390150-should-i-do-this-cleanse0

I would recommend seeing the proper healthcare professional to suggest detox centers for substance abuse.0

The purpose for this detox is creating a break for my digestive system. That is all. I have also heard that juice give you a lot of energy without the caffeine. I will need the energy for finals and working out. I don't abuse anything besides coffee haha but that's a college essential. I have been having stomach issues for the past week or so, probably from excessive eating and drinking during thanksgiving. on top of that i have liver issues so that's why i thought of detoxing as a way to help my body get rid of some bad stuff. I have heard of the master cleanse and all the other fads detoxes but that't not what I was looking for. I should have specified what I meant by detox. I was this "detox" to include food that does require a lot of digestion like fresh juices. I'm not using this to lose weight. thank you all for your concerns. :flowerforyou:0

I agree with pp who mentioned questioning why you want to do this, especially at the time of year when you need to be able to focus and think clearly.
If you are set on doing a detox, Cynthia Sass of Cinch! has a 5 day fast forward to get yourself eating cleaner... it's mainly yogurt, raspberries, almonds, spinach, and eggs. If you are exercising, you shouldn't do the 5 day fast forward.0 -
Instead of doing some fad detox, why not just eat clean & drink lots of water.....maybe throw in some exercise to boot.
All of the women I've worked with who've done the "detox" or "cleanse" diets tend to lose a ton of weight and then gain it back (plus 5 or 10 lbs more).0 -
I suppose I should have added in my first response that those two that I listed aren't the typical "detox"... it is just a matter of eating different healthy foods on different days, and they aren't intended to make you lose pounds. The "good results" that I got were a matter of how I felt more than anything. It felt refreshing, if that makes sense. By reading your post, it sounds like that's what you're looking for.0

Your liver, kidneys, and bowels do an admirable job of cleaning you out if you give them the means to do it. Limit fat and alcohol, drink fluids and eat fiber, don't eat toxins. Good advice every day, not just this week.
Fruit juice is healthy in small portions (4 oz at a time) but is just empty calories if you plan to live on it for a week. And laxatives just disrupt the rhythm your bowels have established that move things along each time you eat. Being a few bowel movements lower in weight when you step on the scale is not real weight loss.0 -

hahaha, a bottle or two? I suppose that can be a new meal replacement
