The pump for this post is primed so I am pulling the catalyst. Just in case I want to run for office one day...

Well yeah somewhere around 10-15 lbs of the pregnant picture was baby, placenta, and various fluids, but plenty of preggos gain a fair amount of fat. I gained 37 lb in both of my pregnancies and strangely did not deliver a 30 lb baby....l0

I gained about 30 pounds during my pregnancy. The baby was only 7 # 2 oz and then the other stuff was there too. But most of my weight gain came from after she was born. (shame on me)0

Indeed, so the post delivery photo would be a good before pic...0 -

Most new moms are a little too busy with a very high-maintenance addition to the family to worry about taking 'before' pics. ;-). Much easier to use a stock preggo photo as many women take those to document the pregnancy.0 -

Wanna know how bad I got gypped after my fourth? I had a 7 lb. 10 oz. baby, a some odd (3-ish) pound placenta, yet left the birth center only five pounds lighter than when I arrived!!! So not right... And by the time I would have been able to start dieting safely (I was exclusively breastfeeding), I weighed MORE than when I went to have my baby.... ack.
Also, there is no way in you know where I'd have posted pictures of my now DROOPING fat belly because said baby had been ejected... no way.0 -
the point of a before pregnancy picture is that is what a woman wants to get back to looking like AFTER she has a baby0

Did you have an IV for the birth? IV fluid bloating is no joke. That'll put some temporary water weight on you. I came home from my first birth (hospital) looking like the Michelin man. Second birth, birth center with no IV, no crazy water retention like the first time since I wasn't pumped full of fluids. Thank goodness b/c those tight calves are miserable! LOL0 -

OP is saying he does not want to see a 'before weightloss' picture of a pregnant woman.0 -

Nope. It was a birth center birth-no meds or fluids. I showed up at 7, had a baby at 7:43, and went home at around midnight. It is a total mystery. lol
*actually... our cardiologist made me deliver the fifth at a hospital, and we intentionally waited because I didn't want to get an IV and all that stuff... so I showed up with all four kids waiting on my dad, who didn't make it, and my baby was born about 10 minutes after arrival. No IV that time either. :-D A nurse tried, and I said I didn't really want it. The midwife said, "don't worry; this baby is being delivered. No need." I had mad IV fluids with my third-hospital birth, sunny side up and stubborn even in the womb... took 30+ hours. yikes.0 -

Who wants a full body photo taken after they've given birth? I sure as hell didn't. I was reluctant a month and a half after.
I gained 100lb being pregnant so if only 10lb of it was baby and it's homey needs, I'm sure as hell going to use a preggo picture as a before.0 -
I personally think its worse when a woman counts her pregnancy weight as the highest weight she's ever been.
I'm sorry.. But I would not count baby, placenta, and extra fluids in my body as my highest weight ever.0 -
haaaaaaaaaaaaaa! LMFAO! OHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhh, this was great. You sure the girls are preg and not postpartum? I mean, what if the baby was delivered and they still look preg. That DOES happen sometimes! Oh my GAWD, this was hilarious! :laugh:0

I agree. I feel like i'm being ripped off.0

Thank you ma’am. Your one response that partially agrees with my perspective means that I am correct which is the validation I was looking for.0 -
so what about this...i was 252.8lbs BEFORE i got pregnant. lost weight and got to 180lbs. got pregnant and got back up to 250lbs. so that still counts, right?? lol. oh and i think the only preggo before pics that should be posted are when you have multiples. your body gets WAY messed up. so i kinda get it. lol0

Actually yeah that does happen a lot. They tell you to bring comfy maternity pants to wear home from the hospital or birth center for a reason. LOL. I still looked like 6-7 months pregnant right after both of my births.0 -
Lmao!! My mom has a photo I took of myself directly after I had abdominal laparoscopy in June, so I was all bloated, lol, I looked 5 mo preg!!!
Wen she was here for Thanksgiving, I flashed her my abs and she actually said there was a little definition around my top 2 abs, lol!0 -

Anybody who thinks this singleton didn't mess up my body, is sadly mistaken.... LOL

And I had another 8 days of him in there... growing....
Oh, and FWIW: I don't count my pregnancy weight as my HW. That is even scarier than my non-pregnant weight.0
