According to the Exercise Database, you burn more calories running 10 minutes at 6.0 mph then you do at 6.7 mph (252/173). I guess I'll slow it down and run a little longer! It really isn't a race apparently!

For myself, I just estimate it under " Running 5 miles" and you need to put the time. I just use 100 calories burned for every mile no matter what speed. For example if I ran 3 miles I would round the time so it lands to 300 calories.

    My 2 cents

    I assume all my miles are ~ 125 calories (I weigh ~ 175).

Sometimes I run 9:00 miles, sometimes I run 6:30 miles, but usually it is somewhere in the middle.

Same here. Throw in a few hills and that rate starts to climb for me.

or if your smaller like me you only get about 75 calories per mile.
  • I get about 99-100 cals a mile whether I walk or run, so I usually ramp up my treadmill to 2 or 3 incline to get a few more calories burnt.
