Help me think through this. My weight loss has basically stopped as far as the scale is concerned. I haven't been eating my exercise calories, and I work out HARD. I wonder if 1520 cal's is just not enough. So, although I am deathly afraid of gaining weight, I am going to begin eating my exercise calories. HELP!!!

History:
- Lost 104 lbs over 20 months
- Began strength training February 2011
- Currently do Interval training with weights 3 days, cardio 3 days.
- Never ate my exercise calories, which have been approx 700 per day average.
- Calories set by MFP default at 1520
- My BMR is 2014
- I have a desk job
- Carbs run between 70 and 130, protein around 130 to 140 grams
- I eat a clean diet
- my measurements are moving slightly in the right direction
- strength and endurance is improving weekly.
- i am 6'2" and 239 lbs

well what I started to do was just up my calories by about 100 (my mfp setting is 1200) I exercise 6 days a week and was going nowhere so I upped my calories and have dropped weight steadily (not much, but 1.5 lbs every week for 4 weeks in a row). Good luck hope this helps:smile:

Yes, I have heard people say the same thing, it just seems counterintuitive to do so.
  • You should search Groups:
    Click on "The Olivia Method"
You are absolutely NOT eating enough
You need to AT LEAST eat your BMI calories and a portion of your exercise calories

Hope it all works out for you - good luck
  • I'd say you should be eating around 1900 cals.
