Does anyone know some drinks that aren't really high in calories or fat, because I usually drink beer but I know it is full of calories.

    White Wine - 80 cal - 3.5 oz.

Isn't all hard alcohol about the same? Except for flavored ones?

Gin & Diet Tonic with extra lime is good, but it's hard to find diet tonic outside of the grocery store. On that topic, how come more bars don't have diet 7-Up or something similar? Better mixer than cola, I think...

Rum and Diet Coke!! Throw a little sugar free amaretto syrup in to make it cherry flavored. Yummy! Also I haven't tried them yet but I saw that they have a Mike's Hard Lemonade Light. I think it was like 100 cal.

    gin
most vodka (be careful of flavored ones, some have added calories in the form of sugar)
some rum (same warning as vodka)

mix any of these with a diet softdrink or soda water and you should be fine.

I prefer gin and soda with a lime.

although I sometimes like a dirty martini with extra olives!
  • is that true about white rum??? i drink miller light. has 98 calories.......better than the 150 you get with reg beer, specially if you have a few.....losing 50 calories a beer really adds up fast and makes a huge difference if you drink a lot.

but even with this info, alcohol is rough on weight loss, besides how it alters your body chemistry and slows the metabolism, it also is converted by the liver to use as fuel, which supercedes the body's use of other food sources, which means, any unused food energy will now be stored instead of used, until the alcohol has been burned off.

You can either do light rum and diet soda or vodka and soda. Also, I like to do Stoli flavored vodkas. Blueberry and soda is VERY good and it's quite okay.

I don't believe the bit about no calories in white rum. If it has alcohol, it has calories. Just because they say something in a commercial doesn't make it true.

Also, another point about alcohol's effect on your diet is this: ever noticed you get the munchies during/after drinking? Alcohol causes your blood sugar to dip and therefore make you want to eat something.

That said, I sure love a good beer.
  • Just have a few drinks and dance your @ss off!

I agree with hangover munchies tho.

I stopped drinking for 3 weeks and dropped an extra 4 pounds without changing my diet.

But i drink a lot, most weekends.. vodka soda and lime..

Beer is bad tho, try to avoid it if you can for sure.

I got excited about the calorie-free thing, too! But unfortunately...

The ads (on Bacardi's site) say zero carbs, zero sugar... not zero calories.

Anywhere you go, it's about 50 - 70 calories per ounce, depending on which proof you're drinking.

    Shoot!

................still has vodka. I'm an ex-bartender. No alcohol is calorie free. Just drink the tomato juice, I can't imagine the clam juice is low in anything - including salt. But you could look it up.

    Ditto beer. Bad.
