Hello :n) My name is Catriona and I am 22 years old. I am a single homeschooling mom to my first grader and special-needs toddler. My son has an autoimmune disorder that leaves him unable to eat any food by mouth called Eosinophilic Esophagitis (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ceT9q5rdSw). He is only allowed to drink a special formula made for children with his condition. Since his birth in 2009 I have gained over 100 lbs, I stopped caring about myself and became completely enthralled in advocating for his health. I am today at the heaviest I have ever been, my health is suffering, and I am ready to take control. I am tried of being tired... and am looking forward to sharing my journey here! I'd deeply appreciate any encouragement and advice as I begin this journey Thanks so much for reading!

You're an awesome mommy! I have family members with special needs children and can empathize to a degree. Through their hardships, I've seen their children blossom into beautiful little persons. Your hard work will pay off. Welcome to MFP!0

Thanks everyone I don't have a formal diet or exercise plan I'm following...
My mini-goals are to (food wise):
- Start taking vitamins regularly
- 8 oz of water *every hour*
- Add more raw foods to my diet
- 5 mini-meals a day at (or around) 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm
- CARRY HEALTHY SNACKS IN THE CAR (I think that's my biggest pitfall is when we're traveling to dr's and specialists appts - I drive-thru for a "quick snack" and always regret it).
And (exercise wise):
- Start 30 Day Shred
- Afternoon yoga (via youtube, lol) with my daughter
- Start walking to the post office, daily, to get mail instead of driving
I'm a two-time-gym-drop-out because I don't have childcare and my youngest is to medically needy for staff to care for =/ So any home-based programs you can recommend would be great0 -
I admire you for all you have to real with. Good for you for taking care of yourself so you can be even better able to take care of your children. I would love to be a friend and support you on your journey:happy:0

I work in a mental health office and I see people who do that same thing all the time (dedicating themselves 100% to their children's health) which is so great that they are so involved but the biggest thing to remember is that the healthier you are, the better you can take care of your children. I'm so happy to see that you're ready to take this head on! You sound like a strong woman ready for a healthy life! I'm excited to see your change and to see you meet your goals.0
