When I first started MFP, I wasn't exercsing. Now that I have been exercising more lately, I haven't had any weight loss. I still watch my calorie intake and sometimes eat some of my calories I have earned through exercise. Can someone give me some suggestions? Thanks.

I think everyone's different, but - for me - when I start taking exercise more seriously, it takes up to 6 weeks for my body to adjust. My weight stays the same (or even fluctuates up & down) until I can figure out the number of calories I should be eating while considering the number of calories I'm burning through exercise. Unfortunately, I also tend to *over* estimate the numbers of calories I burn through exercise. My advice is to give it time, and don't quit exercising just because you're not seeing the number you want to see on the scale. You'll figure it out, and exercise is beneficial in itself.0

Try not eating back your exercise calories for a while, and see if that works0

How long have you been stuck and is it literally zero weight loss or just not as much as you expect?0 -
It's been about two weeks since there hasn't been any change.0

bump - I'm having the same problem.0

I would try eating back exercise calories, you body needs a lot more fuel when exercising. Also, think about investing in a heart rate monitor or bodybugg to gain an accurate calorie burn. I have the bodybugg and often find that it shows lower than some things on MFP.0

I was told that when you start exercising or a new exercise program your muscles will hold water/fluid because of the strain and when once you get used to an exercise routine this will go away and you will loose weight faster. 4-8 weeks.0

Even though the scale may not change, have you noticed a change with your body?0

I wouldn't change anything at this point. In 2 more weeks if there is zero change, I'd start to examine reasons.0
