I know exactly where you're coming from... been through the cycle a couple times because of depression, injury/surgery, etc. Here's how I'm at peace with it - it's not about the last time, the time before that or the first time... it's only about this time... and this time I want to lose it and keep it off.
Now - I can't claim that my mantra will work for anyone else but me but I'm 55 days into the journey this time and it's working for me one day at a time.0 -
I've embraced an active lifestyle. So I'm always training for something or working towards a goal. Sure, I have weeks when I'm lazy, but I can't be lazy for months because then I'll suffer when the time comes to do my race. Most of these events won't give you your money back either so once you sign up, you are committed!0

First get realistic. If you tried everything then maybe it's time to just learn how to eat healthier. Don't cut out an entire food group. Don't exercise until you can't move. Don't drink your meals. Unless you plan to do it forever.
Educate yourself on healthy eating. Cut out processed and fast foods. Don't drink your calories drink water and save your calories for food. When you start eating healthier foods you can eat more of them and feel full longer. Get a food scale and get familure with correct portion size. Sometimes just one little thing can make a big difference in the long run. You didn't gain overnight and you will not lose in a healthy way, over night and keep it off. Just think before you reach, either in the market or your frige.0 -

I am just generalizing here but, I have found that there are two types of people who need to lose weight, Those who need to lose under 30 lbs and those that need to lose over 30lbs. Typically if you are looking to lose a little weight fad diets, medifast, weight watchers .. all of that is very useful to get you back where you want. If you have to lose a signifigant amount of weight, there is something that brought you to where you are today. Until you deal with whatever that THING is, you will continue to have trouble with it.
The best thing I can suggest if figure out which group you are in .. and if you are in the latter of the two, be as brutally honest with yourself and explain either on MFP or to a friend how and you got this way. Its the most difficult of things to do, and the truth will set you free.0 -
I have been yo-yoing with my weight for years, it is awful. I am determined to keep the weight off because I am sick of this up and down! Having a closet full of all different sizes - I done with it. When I lose the weight, I will always remember how selfconscience I have been about my size. I never want to feel that way again! But the biggest wake up call was when I entered my numbers to get my BMI and read that I was obese! I felt like I got hit be a truck. The good news is that I am 5.2 pounds away from being over weight. Who would have thought that anyone could get excided about being over weight! Good luck to you, and if you want to add a friend, you can send me a friend request. I will gladly accept.0
