Holiday Parties

Hey everyone,
I wanted to get some ideas about how you all resist temptation at holiday parties and with everyone bringing treats to work? I know some days I go to work with the best of intentions, but then I am just offered one brownie too many

Maybe stay very focused on your goals this season and plan for the next few weeks to have good choice planned foods that you bring with you and have easily available so that you're not overly hungry when confronted with challenging holiday food choices. Its difficult! Good luck! Also, it's not the foods as much as the amounts0

I second the idea for bringing something yummy and healthy. I also make sure to eat before-- something with protein and / or fiber to keep you from walking in there really hungry. I like a light string cheese and some celery or a fiber one brownie.
Assess the food once you are in-- decide what looks healthiest and go for a few bites of those items. Set goals for how many drinks you will consume. Wine is nice, but at 100 or so calories a glass, you are probably better off sticking with a liquor and diet soda cocktail. Dance (if possible) to keep moving and make the night about something other than food.
Finally-- have fun! You have to live a little.0 -
Just be strong!!! Remember this is about you getting thinner, healthlier, happier. A friend told me this a few years ago but I started this life style change, "Nothing tastes like skinny feels" If the food is in a room and u are temped, leave that room. Just be strong!!!! You CAN do this!!!!0

I agree about staying strong, but if you have to indulge in that treat add it to your food journal and adjust your calorie intake for it.0

I jsut started back on my weight lost goal and started using this program. It seems to be really helping. I have my husband Christmas party tonight and i was going to give myself the night off. I wanted to have a couple of drinks i usually drink Diet coke and Malibu or hard cider. I have given up soda for 5 sdays now and don't want to go back onto it if i don't have to but it has a lot less calories in that drink then the cider one. I was a couple diet soda a day girl for years. Its been a hard 5 days givign it up and afraid if i give in i am going to have set back. What do you suggest for best for the party if i want to have a couple of drinks. I was going to allow myself a couple of drinks then go to water or unsweet tea.0

Katiep97- I say if soda is your weakness don't go there. If you are doing well it's easier to stick with it in my opinion.0
