Is it true if you don't work out it all turns to flab so soo

I can't workout at the moment because I have got a deep root trapped nerve. My Physio strapped me up and won't touch it for now. The pain is unreal and I have to wait to see my GP till 3.40 today to get some stronger pain relief as normal painkillers aren't touching it.
I know it's wrong but I miss my Ripped in 30 and am worried my hard won washboard stomach is going to turn to flab because I read on here that within 2 days of no exercise all the good you do by exercising is undone. I worked so hard to get to this point now I'm worried it will all go back to square one. Cutting my calories right back. :(
Is it true that it all turns to flab so quickly?

You weren't able to build it all in two days, and you certainly won't lose it all in two days.

muscle does not turn to fat afaik.

worst case is you cover it with a bit more bulk if you overeat, the muscles may break down a bit too with no exercise but they dont turn into fat.
  • Ha!
    No your quite safe.
If you're that paranoid just control your diet.
Eat low carbs and eat protein and EFA's.

Your just getting excercise withdrawal symptoms.

You got visable abs - hell don't worry

I am not clear about your problem, but I believe you can try Aqua Work out, which will be safe and will burn your calories. First confirm this with your Doctor.

    Best of Luck..

The truth is your lean body mass will decrease and your muscles will diminish; that's reality.
And if your bodyfat remains the same, it will look like your arms, legs and such are turning to flab.

The body only responds to the managed stress we give it, so if there is nothing you can do, just accept that but resolve to start resistance ASAP.

Sometimes we need extra rest and recovery.

This is just silly. I'm not aiming that comment at you, but at whoever wrote it to begin with.

The main thing you're missing out on is the calorie burn provided by that exercise. You've got weeks before you really have to worry about your muscles falling off :)

Not to mention, muscle memory will kick in to a certain extent when you begin resistance training again (if it was an extended period of not lifting - not two days).

It was something someone on here wrote after watching Biggest Loser USA. Something the trainer said about after 2 days of no exercise everything was undone, It shocked me because thats just like a weekend off. I couldn't bear my hard work to be undone now. Feel better for posting this,

That sounds like something the trainer said on the Biggest Loser to keep them motivated. Fortunately, the real world isn't the biggest looser. Take care of your pinched nerve so you don't cause further damage!

That's about as logical as saying you can get ripped in 2 days.

No no no no! No need to fret, just keep your nutrition in check and you will be fine!

Hope you feel better soon...that sounds terrible :(

I recently had to take a whole month off from working out (pacemaker implanted) and was worried about all my hard work going away, but guess what, it didn't! I still haven't even picked back up my normal routine 7 weeks later. I've only been doing modified stuff. I pretty much am still the same "tone" wise.
