Does anyone else keep a food journal? I don't log my exercise/food on here, I'm here for the message boards! I love having people to talk to who are looking for the same thing- Good Health!! But instead of logging on here, I keep a food journal. I love looking back each day or week and seeing okay, on this day I ate this that I really didn't need... or on this day I ate well because... It's been extremelly helpful for me!! Just wondering how your food journal helps you?

Before I found the app, followed by the website, I did keep a food journal and I found it extremely helpful. Started out as an actual journal/notebook then I made excel spreadsheets. But I find the app more convenient personally, but I do understand the appeal of the journal.

I don't track online either!! I have a journal, my husband calls it "the book", he thinks its super funny how I have to compulsively write in it immediately after I eat anything, even just a bite! Laugh, I say, but this is why I am 10lbs lighter! I enjoy the messages boards and freindly encouragement, its always helpful to know you are not alone in the fat war :drinker:
  • I do this a lot during the day then copy it here only because I don't have any way to log on the go (no fancy app phones yet). Also something about literally writing it down seems to help.

I started tracking my food back in May 2010 with WW Points. In 2011, I started MFP for maintenance. You will find great support here. Good luck to you!

I keep a food journal on here. I am currently trying to fight of pre-diabetes. So I have to keep a record of what I eat, how many carbs, etc. I post it on here, it I dont through my phone. Plus it gives me motivation when I am in a slump. I can look back at my progress. My biggest problem is the motivation to exercise. UGH!! I am open to add anyone for encouragement and or to be friends/chit-chat on here. Have a good day everyone!!
