same thing we make every year :D christmas eve is pizza night,
christmas day is standing rib roast on the rotisserie, oven roasted red potatoes, and two veggies depending on my mood.. we used to do canned green beans and corn but this year i wanna do something fresh.
  • Here is a great side dish...Cucumber hor d'oeuvre...... You could do Tuna with olive oil mayo you could use crab salad or chicken salad the options are endless!! Sprinkle little paprika and chives AND YOUR GOOD TO GO AND IT SMELLS AND TASTES SOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!

I go to brothers for xmas and we are in the cold North of UK so its traditional turkey with taties roasted in goose fat (I'll treat myself to a couple) and rest of xmas dinner is veg anyway mostly.. oh.. except the for sausages wrapped in bacon.. i might allow 2 little ones!

My family sometimes do an ham joint too but I don't have with it with dinner but they usually send me home with some turkey, ham and sausages wrapped in bacon which I share with my doggy for boxing day dinner!

None of us like christmas pudding, 2 of us have nut allergies anyway and 2 are diabetic (10 of us for xmas dinner) so my brother does a trifle with brandy cream, port,.. god knows what else in it.. but its gorgeous!

Sometimes if they have got some gateaus/choc cakes for over xmas they will send me home with a slice of hot choc fudge cake and some brandy cream too!!!... heaven.. lol... not good for the diet.. which is why I don't buy one myself... lol!

Luckily I'll be getting some new fitness games too which will be going on boxing day to work off all those calories!!!
  • Christmas Eve we are having a Raclette :)
On Christmas Day we are invited to my aunt's for cake and coffe -.- and at night we are going to a local restuarant ( hopefully they have something with salmon or some other fish on the menu)
And on the second Christmas Day we are going to have steak (urgh, I don't like steak but my dad and boyfriend need some real meat haha)

I just ordered my Prime Rib through work... I will seasoned it and fire up the grill outside....

    Homemade garlic-wine au-jus for dipping
    freshly grated horseradish

Duchess style mashed potatoes for him
Duchess style mashed cauliflower for me

Roasted colored bell peppers, onions, portabella mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes

Wild mesclun salad featuring yellow heirloom tomatoes, red bell pepper strips, english cukes, artichokes, slivers of red-onion with an herbed mustard vinaigrette.

Fresh baked braided garlic bread for his sopping pleasure

Desserts for him will be my Grasshopper Brownies: devils food brownies that have been poked and have Kahlua drizzled over it to soak - middle layer of brownies will have a Godiva White-Chocolate liqueuer, and the outside will have a DeKuyper Dark Creme de minthe frosting - crushed frozen Andes Candy mints and oreos that have bathed in Creme De Cacao..

Dessert for me will be a Low-carb Cherry Cheesecake: fresh cherries pitted with half of them marrying in Cherry-Vodka. A modified cheesecake base and slivered almond garnish..

Prime rib, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, rolls, fruit salad is our usual. I may try to change things up a bit this year, but we'll see.

I will be making a Turkey breast (only 2 adults and 2 kids, don't need the leftovers), homemade mashed potatoes, steamed fresh green beans and then finish with a saute with garlic with a little lemon juice over it.

Might make my mom's potato salad since she's still not speaking to me and I don't see us spending Christmas with someone who won't talk to me. No thanks.

And my famous Peppermint Cheesecake. Haven't figured out the calories yet but I will try to do better during the day and maybe hop on the elliptical so I can earn a piece!!!

Yum! Everyone is making me hungry!

We will have on Christmas Eve...... baked brie w/ crackers and maybe crab dip... assorted veggies. Christmas dinner will be Roast Leg of Lamb with Mint Sauce, Roast Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts and Rutabaga. Don't know about dessert yet.... still contemplating that. Hoping I can find a lower calorie recipe for English Trifle.

I'm not making anything (well, besides making eggnog and cheesecake to take with...) however I do have FOUR Christmas meals to eat...possibly five...bf's dad's on 23rd, my mom's family on 24th, bf's grandparents on step dad's side on 25th, my dad's family on January 1st...and my boyfriend's step dad is a trucker and will probably be on the road until early January so we might have a small meal when he gets back... Man, that's gonna be a lot of food...
