Electronic scales or the old fashion ones?

So I have some old fashion scales at home (the ones where you stand on them and the needle moves to your weight) which I weighed myself on Friday morning before breaky etc. About 3 hours later I was at the doctors and they made me weigh myself again on some electronic ones. I was magically 4kg lighter?!?!?!?!

Does this mean electronic scales are more accurate? or were the doctors ones wrong? Both scales were used on hard floors so it wasn't the carpet making the difference. Any ideas?

most scales are a little off, if you are going to be weghing yourself on the one at home most frequently i would just use that weight, you can still see how much you lost as long as you are consistantly using the same scale.

It's just a matter of them not being calibrated the same... it really doesn't matter what you use to weight yourself with so long as it is the same scale each time that way the calibration issue doesn't enter the equation.
  • Great thanks :) although it was fun to think i had lost 4kg in a few hours ;)

I use the scales at my gym and they are "old fashioned" scales. I used to have electronic ones at home but they were very inconsistent so I threw them away. They would often give me weights of 7lbs more than the manual scales!
