I started counting my calories and exercise using MFP about 6 weeks ago; so far I've lost about 6 lbs. I started off at 176 lbs. and my goal is 143 lbs. The first 6 lbs. came off really easy and now I'm kind-of stuck. I think I need to start being stricter about the weekends, when I tend to be too laidback about what I eat!

I also run (really slowly) for 30 minutes, usually I try to go 3 times a week but most of the time I only make it out twice a week. I started running last fall with the Couch to 5K and I love it, it makes me feel so good!

Glad to be here and hopefully I'll make it to my goal... I'm a bit discouraged right now. If anyone has any words of wisdom about why the first pounds came off so quick and why I seem to be stuck now, I'd love to hear them!

If you want you could try a different exercise, it always help me to do something new. Plus I would recommend workout out more times a week. Good luck!!

    Welcome aboard.

You'll do fine here if you remember that it's self-motivation that drives this site with a focus on lifestyle change not short term dieting.

If you're eating differently on the weekends are you tracking that on your log? If not you should and you shouldn't eat more than your allocated calories or you will undo what you started very quickly. You'll catch on to a routine and it will all come together for you soon.

    Good Luck.

Thanks KTN and Rheston! I do track my weekend eating, which really helps me see how I don't do so well on the weekends. :noway: So I'll have to start being more careful there. Also maybe I'll try doing some different exercise using some DVDs I have.

    Thanks for the tips!
