I am just getting into the better nutrition and fitness part of life. I am looking for some books to help me understand both nutrition and fitness. I am not necessarily looking for diet books but more of the science side of things. The more basic they start the better, just interested in learning more about what happnes in the body, with nutrition and fitness.
I hope this makes Sense
Thanks

Jillian Michael's new one, Master your Metabolism. It teaches you a LOT about nutrition and how different foods will affect your body. I LOVE it!! :flowerforyou:0

This is not a science of things book but the "Eat this not that" books are real eye openers. I have the one for the grocery store and I was shocked at what I thought was "healthy" could be healthier.0

I second "Eat This Not That". I keep my copy in the car to help pick where to go when I eat out and what I should order...and what meals to avoid!0

I have read tons of books on the same subject. Really wanted to know how my body works.
I like the ones written by a cellular biologist the best. He makes so much sense and talks about how to "feed" our blood which feeds our cells.
The easy one to read is "The Ph Miracle" by Dr. Robert O. Young
Order it at phmiracleliving.com or amazon or find it at borders, etc.
The other book is "The Ph Miracle for Weightloss" by same
and the more technical book is
"Sick and Tired? " by same
They are really fascinating books and the first two are the easiest of any books I have ever read to understand!
Happy READING!0 -
I cant remember the author, but I loved the book "Total Heart Health". It included physical, mental and spiritual heart health and had a little devotional book with it too.
I also really like Jillian Michaels' new one "Master your Metabolism". Lots of good info.0 -

A good read that will change your food choices
In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan
And, You are What You Eat by Dr. Gillian McKeith
For fitness, my husband really liked the Men's Health HARD BODY PLAN one of the authors last names is Keller. My husband has the opposite problem, he never gains weight but the book had a lot of exercise and how to get stronger etc, really explained a lot about how to just get where you want to be as a Man. You guys do it different.....lucky :laugh:0
