Hi My name is Jean and I am just getting started here. I have tried every diet known to man and failed time and time again. Right now, I am about 80 pounds overweight and literally can't stand the way this is making me feel. I am trying a new fitness program so I hope that helps. Also, I am trying to limit the amount of sugar I am eating unless it is already there in fruits and vegetables since I am totally addicted to it (my middle name is chocolate). If anyone has any advice for me, I am all ears. I hope I can do it this time.

Don't dwell on things that are in the past, if you have a bad day, make the best of it and work out, or eat right for the remaining part of the day. Don't give up, you can do anything you put your mind to!

Welcome, and enjoy! You will learn a lot here and gets TONS of support! Soon your 80 lbs will be gone.

I, too, am a former chocolate addict. My body just HAD to have the chocolate and sugar mix. All the time. Some people here say that they eat it once in a while. That doesn't work for me. I am an all or nothing chocoholic. I limit myself to mostly veggies (about 70% of my diet) with 30% dedicated to fish and fruit such as watermelon, apples, grapefruit, lemons, avocado. If I pick up a piece of chocolate, it ends up with many pieces and weight gain.

Wishing you sucess that you find the key to being happy with your fuel intake and your new healthy lifestyle!

Welcome Jean, you will find this site so motivational. I too am a total sugar addict and can sympathize with how hard it is to cut this out of your diet. All I can say is stick with it, I found the sugar cravings incredibly hard to ignore but honestly, I found once I had done 8 days straight of sticking to the calories recommended on this site & introducing exercise, it definitely became much easier and now I don't even think about sweet stuff. Make the decision to change your lifestyle and it will happen, I have changed my thinking from "Oh I shouldn't eat this" to "there's no way I'm putting that junk into my body", somehow it works.
