Hello Everyone!!! I was curious about your opinion on what workout DVD's are the best? Anyone have any favorites or ones they have seen great results with?? I want to purchase a few so that I have some variety this winter. However, the selection is overwhelming and they all promise THE most amazing results but we know how that goes.... Any suggestions? :flowerforyou:

  • If you like to walk I suggest any of the Leslie Sansone videos. They are great for when you can't get outside to walk.

I haven't used this - but my friend swears by Denise Austin's "Yoga Buns".
  • I don't know what type of workouts you enjoy, but I really get into kickboxing as a cardio workout, so Gilad's QuickFit System was a good buy for me. Gilad has several other workout DVDs as well.

By far my favorite yoga DVDs are Rodney Yee: "strength, stamina, and flexibility" as well as "upper body, lower body, and abs"
For beginners "Yoga for Weight Loss" by Suzanne Deason.

My rule for cardio is they must wear appropriate clothing. I want to work out, not look at porn.

While not high end, the upper/lower/total body DVDs on Walmarts $1.00 rack are pretty good. You need hand weights and a band, but that's it. They incorporate a lot of core/ab work as well. The total body wasn't very challenging (you do each exercise for 60 seconds, so you can always do more), so instead, I do both the upper and lower for a good 60 min session.

Believe it or not, I LOVE some of the Carmen Electra DVDs. I believe it's called something about getting a stripper body or something domb like that, but it's got some great work outs and it's broken up so you can do only certain parts or there's options to do longer sets or the whole thing. And it works every aspect of your body! The dance routine videos she does are fun, but I don't feel much burn! Only felt results with the work out one! I also have some old VHS's that I bought a billion years ago but still love. They are QuickFix Abs, QuickFix arms and legs, QuickFix Buns, and QuickFix yoga. Each video has three 10 minute workouts so are easy to sqeeze into any day and you can really feel them working! I could swear by these videos!!! I also like Tae-Bo! It gets me sweating!!

I LOVE the FIRM workouts...they kick your butt!! It is a combination of cardio routines and weight lifting intervals. The videos come with a step(it's actually 2 steps that can be stacked on one another) you also need dumbells at different weights. There is SO many videos in the series my favorites are Cardio Sculpt and Body Sculpt Blaster..I have been doing them for some time, and have toned up! When i first started I couldn't complete any of them...so to be able to do them all the way through is a great feeling!

Right now I am working on the Slim in 6 series. I like it but they say to see the best results you have to do it six days a week for six weeks. So if I don't get to it that many days in a week I feel like I'm having to start the six weeks over! Overall it seems like a pretty good series though.

I've tried Tae Bo and it is a very good workout! Plus, you feel like a rockstar if you actually make it through the whole thing. Very challenging!

I LOVE Leslie Sansone's walking videos! I'm a clutz and get easily frustrated with videos and she makes it so easy! I have a couple of them. The first one I got (from my sister last Christmas) was her 5 day walk fit one. There are 5 different workouts that you can do. It helped to get me started working out and got the first 10 lbs off of me. I highly recommend them! I've got a co-worker and her mother hooked on them as well.
  • I like the Firm videos because you see results after 10 sessions.
