Slimquick and liver damage????

The recent links of liver damage and hydroxycut have me worried about what I have been taking. I have taken drexatrim max for about two months, and recently for about the past month been drinking the powder in water slimquick.
Do you guys think these could also damage your liver? I know none of these things are good for you, but it does give me a boost, and I have seen results with these.
I am not taking these anymore, but wonder how you would know if damage has already been done????:frown:
Anybody's thoughts?????

There's a full list on the FDA website of the known products that are included in the recall.
If you're concerned about damage, go to your doctor and request liver function testing, simple blood test, that will tell you if you might have been negatively affected by these products.0 -
I don't think you should be taking any of them at all. If you think something is wrong then go to a doctor ASAP.0

most of these products are worthless, they don't fix the real problem, which is inside each of us...short term use probably won't result in any damage, but if you really concerned, consult your physician...Best to you always, Rick0

I don't blame you for being worried. I would strongly urge you to resonsider and stop taking all of that stuff, here's why:
1. Most, if not all of the over the counter supplements are not regulated or approved by the FDA. They all put a disclaimer on their products, "....these statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, blah, blah, blah". Liquid supplements have all kinds of artificial ingredients and chemicals that give them their long shelf life.
2. Because they aren't approved, there is no guarantee about the quality or quantity of the ingredients. Some batches may be okay, some may have too much of the active ingredients, some too little - a total crap shoot. Soooo many diet supplement have been yanked. Thats a big warning!
3. These types of products are not going to be products that you'll take forever, nor are they meant to be. So then what? Will you turn to another quick weight loss or quick jump start product?? No,learn how to play the game of life. Balance exercise and actually be accountable for exercise, food choices, and portion control. Thats why a site like MFP works for so many
So give your body some love and care and if you are called to do so, think about ditching the supplements. When the liver is damaged, that can be life threatening.
Yeah, they give you a 'boost', but is a 'boost' what you're going for???? Think about long term health and fitness, not short term..
There are just my thoughts...chuck them if they don't fit! Just 'food for thought'!!The recent links of liver damage and hydroxycut have me worried about what I have been taking. It's never enough of a boost even if it does help a bit.
I'd say 75% of the people I build programs for have tried some kind of weight loss product like hydroxycut, or slimquick. It just didn't work for them.
If someone does have a damaged liver from these sorts of products or a health concern it WILL be harder for them to lose weight. After all your liver is your major fat burning organ.
In the clinic we always start with a naturopathic detox to get things working as they should before attempting any kind of sustained weight loss.0
