Hi guys,
I currently train every weekday morning before work but my gym doesn't open until 7am so I only have 30 mins maximum to train. I normally alternate days between eliptical and treadmill but would like to include an all round workout using free weights or machines. Has anyone got any ideas pleas?

  • Hello,
If you aren't opposed to DVD's, Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30, is a good workout, it has 3 minutes of strength, 2minutes of cardio and 1 minute of abs, and then you repeat. There are 4 weeks, and each workout ends up being about 20 minutes. I have started seeing a difference after doing this video. Good luck.

you can also try adding things like push-ups, planks, pull up / chin ups, squats, deadlifts to work multiple groups at the same time while reducing the length of your workout

Try one or two rounds of this:

    http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/

    Basic overview:

    20 body weight squats
    10 push ups
    20 walking lunges
10 dumbbell rows (using a gallon milk jug)
    15 second plank
    30 Jumping Jacks

I bump my planks up to 30 seconds at least.
