I play guitar and bass, somewhat casually. I don't play them as much as I should and I see them sittin beside eachother begging to be 'played with ;)' but I just neglect em and dont really play often.

I have a Fender Precision knockoff bass, and an Ibanez Arondite ADD120.

Anyone else? My uncles, and grandpa used to do little shows around the city

I play guitar, piano, sing, write my own music. You can listen to some of my older stuff here: myspace.com/arielleippolito. I have a couple videos my dad took at my first show as well on youtube.com/ariellemippolito. My last show was in May...hoping for some more over the summer. Have started incorporating covers because I love singing other people's songs. I find people get bored when I play ONLY original music since they don't know it.

I'm a pianist and vocalist! Sang harmonies for my step brothers band a few times with him but mostly use my talents with my praise band at my church!

I play piano and a little guitar, and love to sing choral (classical) music.

My brother plays guitar too, and I really wish we would jam more, we've basically only jammed to Man in the Box by Alice in Chains, and For whom the bell tolls, by metallica :P I need to up my game.

I sing in the shower :D Haha, but that's awesome there's so much talent around here!
  • Flute, Piano and Vocalist! Currently learning guitar on my own, but have to wait for it to be fixed (It's comb isn't the right size, so all the strings are nice and close to each other and impossible to play.) I also write my own music and lyrics. No recordings however.
  • I went back and forth. Did choir all through school, including in college. I couldn't put down the blues though. I add it to any gig I play, even if it isn't blues.

Yeh AJ, I've heard that learning blues is really good for some progress overall. Adds a certain substance, I really should take guitar more seriously. I have a few friends who play and it'd be kick *kitten* to be able to just rip out a few shows around the city if we actually got together and tried(and didnt suck *kitten* haha)
  • Play for yourself or your friends like you're standing on a huge stage. It will help you polish when you're by yourself.

Well I don't play guitar, bass or drums. But I do play piano, flute and piccolo plus I love to sing so I guess that counts for something!

  • I play guitar. I recently got a schecter c-1 hellraiser and am really trying to find more time to play. Its tough though because all of the friends I have that play instruments are into way different music than me so I have nobody to jam with.

I also recently started dipping my hands into some electronic music, messing around with FL studio, reason, and cubase.

I am a singer. Grew up singing mostly gospel in church, but I listen to and sing a variety of music. It's my escape...I love music!

Yup - I'm a singer - did classical singing lessons, got sick of it and joined a rock band (played a bit of keyboard and bass as well as backing vocals to a lead singer who seriously couldn't sing!), in my church worship team (and leading it) for years, in choirs (alto and soprano) and an opera chorus, took a few jazz singing lessons (fun to sing, but the teacher was a bit too pushy for me).

I've had a few years of piano lessons but I wouldn't say I could actually play the piano. I'd love to go back and do some more so I could comfortably play a piece at sight.

My tip for any instrument is take lessons! There are little bits of technique for any instrument that make all the difference to the quality of your sound.

In terms of singing people wrongly think that it's just a gift that you've either got or you don't.Not true! People have different natural talent, but even someone who's tone deaf or has naturally dull tone can be trained to sing well enough for a group or choir.
  • Been playing guitar for 12 years. I currently own 4 guitars. 3 Schecters. Two six strings and one 8 string. And a nice Takamine acoustic/electric. I write my own music as well as jam along with stuff I like. My influences are Pantera, Metallica, Periphery, After the Burial, Story of the Year, ect... Pretty much play anything that my ear hears and likes. I occasionally resort to the roots and do scale exercises to keep the sweeps up. Never really got into singing. I sing in the car. I just got my home studio setup with Cubase/Superior Drummer/ and Line 6 Pod HD Pro Rack. I recommend all of that stuff for people that want to make some decent sounding stuff.

I sing back up and I have an accordion! She's a beauty but I'm still learning her.
  • My main ones are piano and vocals. However due to my nature of wanting to know and be capable of doing everything I can also play (not at a high standard) guitar, bass, violin and drums.

I play flute and piccolo. I'm currently teaching myself guitar. Both my acoustic and electric guitar are gathering dust. I haven't seemed to find the time to drag them out in a while.....
