So my wife and I were talking... She asked if I will love her for all eternity. I told her I vowed to love her until death do us part. Once I die, I have honored the contract. She said no way, I have to love her forever. I don't think she is going to scratch my back later.

I tell hubby I love him forever and ever...I just don't like him. That was our agreement 24 1/2 years ago!!

...I will never understand some of the traditions of marriage...

Let's be real. You don't need a ceremony and a "contract" to devote yourself to someone. Love is love is love. Marriage, in my cynical mind, is all about the tax breaks.

If I ever get married, my vows will be, "to have and to hold, until you really want to kill one another, b/c you need to value your mental health above everyone elses. So if you get divorced, fine, join the club. But don't be an *kitten* about it."
