20 minutes on the elliptical or less is pointless. The equivalent run workout would be about 13.5 minutes long as you should work on a high resistance and for about 1.5 times longer than on a treadmill or running outdoors. So a 1 hour run should be 90 minutes long on an elliptical, 30 minute run 45 mins elliptical etc.
I disagree, you're still burning calories, getting your heart rate up. If you aren't in shape enough to do 90 minutes then you need to work your way up to it. There's no way I could do 90 minutes on an elliptical. 20 is my max right now and I had to work up to that. If I did 90 minutes I wouldn't be able to walk the next day.0 -
The ellipticals at my gym have TV's mounted on them, and I don't have a TV in my room so that is the only time I watch it. I go to the gym planning on working out for 30 mins, but then a show I want to watch comes on and the next thing I know it's been an hour!0
