Hi all... I am trying my hardest to get into shape and lose the ten pounds I've gained at college... but the sneakers I have now give me the worst shin splints EVER.
does anyone have any suggestions on good (affordable) running sneakers?

I would suggest you go to a store that can fit you for inserts. The New Balance store where we live will fit you for them. I was a sceptic until they fit both my husband and I and we found that he has a well supported foot with even pressure points and my feet are...well they suck with tons of pressure spots.
I also love my asics I got them on sale at Big 5 for $50 orig. $100.0 -
Not sure about affordable but I LOVE asics. I use the Asics gel-2160 and they were recently voted best running shoes by runners magazine (I think, don't quote me!). Anyways, I would recommend Asics.0

I'm also a huge ASICS fan. I started out wearing Nike, but have since switched to ASICS, and don't think I'll ever wear any other brand. You just have to try them on to make sure they are comfortable.0
