Keeping shakes and smoothies fresh for several hours?

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone has some experience or useful advice about keeping shakes and smoothies fresh for several hours. I like to blend my drinks with a lot of ice so they have a really thick consistency. I find that if I put them in the freezer at work that they get too hard. Does anyone know if a thermos would keep the smoothie fresh until around lunchtime?

I use the insulated Klean Kanteen. I like them because they are stainless steel (no BPA or bad tastes) and easy to clean.
I only use frozen fruit, and it will keep a smoothie cold for at least 2-3 hours sitting on my desk. I usually make mine at home, drink a little on the way to work and finish it off at work.0 -
Thanks for your feedback! I purchased a Thermos brand stainless steel container and am testing it today. I didn't use any protein powder - just fruit, milk, xanthan gum and lots of ice. Hopefully it will keep the smoothie fresh.0
