What's a good brand? I will have to buy some new shoes soon and I would to have some input as to what is a good brand to buy for walking on the treadmill or outside. My exercise routine is mostly walking.

Do you have a runner's shoe store near you, like Fleet Feet or Road Runner Sports? If you do, go to the shop. They will assess your foot and give you recommendations for brands that are best suited to your feet, since most of us have some issue (pronation, flat feet, etc.) that you may not even be aware of.

If not, I have always had good luck with New Balance, Adidas, and my latest pair are Merrell. I do all outdoor walking, mostly asphalt roads but some trails and have these and love them:

Thanks, I do not have a runners store near me b/c I live in a town that has maybe 5 redlights if we are lucky, lol, it's tiny. I love new balance and adidas. So maybe I will look into those.

I don't run but I do love my Sketchers for walking. They took a short time to get used to but are so comfortable for lots of walking. Some people have told me to be careful wearing them but so far I have not had any problems.

I am wearing an old pair of Addidas right now and am in the same boat as you. Whatever brand just make sure they don't rub or pinch. I have had great luck with New Balance but have a pair the exact same size that rubs my heel raw. I have to agree with SuzyQ on the Skechers....I LOVE them for walking! Good luck!

well idk where you live but if you live near an academy [sports store] or a finish line they can chek if your pover pronated or under pronated and then go from there and the most i have ever spent was maybe 80 but i have nike nakeds they are like so light on your feet you feel bare foot and they have mesh so it seeps sweat and also lets your feet breather lol i used to work @ finish line so if you need help i can help you just need details of what your lookin for like light or what ... i like running bare foot so i am picky

We don't have that store here in my town or anywhere close to where I live. I sure wish they did though. It sounds really cool.

I really like Asics for walking. They give you great heel stability and cushion.

  • Definately the running store can hook you up with good shoes. But I usually use Nike Walking shoes, they have always worked for me. For running shoes I have some Addias and I absolutely love them
