now i think it might be becasue of the fact im used to having my treats all day every day and i havent had any this week occational 100 calorie bar or somthing,
do you think i may be feeling the withdraws of it or just having a bad day? i dont know i feel like i need some chips or somthing? but i know deep down if i do
im only cheeting myself right?

exercise! it releases feel-good endorphins!
i understand how you feel...cause everytime i was feeling down, blue, stressed, or whatever, i would grab some chocolate. of course you can have a sweet, as long as it is not-so-bad one, like the pudding i was talking about in the red team discussion :happy:0 -
Lots of possible reasons for your funk- withdrawal from your "drug", eating too infrequently- you should still be getting snacks, or just plain under eating- a common mistake when we first start our journey!
We need more info on your diet and exercise to really help.0 -
Hang in there...
I would recommend having one REALLY good treat once a day. I LOVE dark chocolate and to keep myself from going COMPLETELY overboard I have a couple squares of that a day (usually one after lunch and one after dinner). I find knowing that I'm going to get my "fix" prevents me from getting sidetracked and eyeballing that snickers or bag of potato chips in the machine. Plus it's dark chocolate so it actually gets bitter if you eat too much. Nature's own diet control.
I used to eat 100 calorie packs like a fiend but I was tearing through 3 to 4 to sometimes even 5 packs a day b/c I didn't feel satisfied. Now if I REALLY want cookies (which I usually don't feel the need) I'm one of those nuts who has 2 cookies and is done with it.
Some people say they have trouble with the "in moderation" part which in that case I would say buy ONE package of the something you REALLY REALLY WANT and divide it up into individual snack size bags. Then supplement with apples, carrots, oranges any type of healthy filler. Also depending on what you are craving try to give yourself the healthy version of that "taste". I.e. instead of the salty crunch of chips try popcorn, or carrot sticks and hummus or something like that and instead of candy try fruits-same sugary concept HUGE difference in calories.
I've tried out these ideas in various forms so just feel around until you get the one for you. I myself was a little depressed at first about "missing out" but I found that allowing myself that one small treat a day really curbed those feelings and kept me from overeating and indulging in the wrong types of foods.0 -
you know that sounds like a good idea, i think that might be what im doing is depriving myself for any kind of cakes cookies sweets in general. and my body feels like i need it and its making me fussy. thanks so much for the advice..:flowerforyou:0

If chocolate is what you're craving, try getting a big bar of dark chocolate and dividing it up. I find that just a square or two helps with my chocolate cravings, where I could eat 3 milk chocolate bars and still want more!0

I totally understand what you mean! And yes, it is withdrawal, I went through the same thing when I gave up all sweets for lent! I got headaches, I was always tired and I snapped at everyone! It was a tough 40 days, . I kept thinking it would get better, but it didn't. The only advice I have from experience is give yourself a limit! Mine is 100 calories of sweets a day. Not much, but it keeps the withdrawal symptoms at bay:happy: good luck.

I am pretty new to this site, but I do know that I definitely get moody on occassion because I took away most of my " treats". I don't however take away ALL my treats. I have been limiting myself to 1 or 2 small treats a week. That way I don't "binge-eat" and feel like I am failing. Another good idea is if you enjoy chocolate to freeze it..it takes longer to eat ! Good luck !0
