I took my truck to see a friend who is at University a few hours from my place this Thursday night, spent the night and got back last night...went to my truck this morning to notice that all the Christmas presents I had bought and wrapped had been stolen out of the back of my truck, and we are talking a few thousand in gifts....gone...STOLEN....so to the Grinch who stole these I just want to say one thing....

MERRY CHRISTMAS! If you are in such a bad place that you need to steal Christmas presents from someone, then please enjoy all of those presents. I hope they go to good use and make you and your family happy. If you are not in that much need then please give them to someone else and tell them Merry Christmas from myself! I hope my gifts to you have brightened your holidays. Thankfully I am blessed and money is not an object for me...but I would hope to think if it ever was I would not sell out my integrity and dignity to steal gifts from someone else!

Here is to wishing everyone out there a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

That sucks. But I have to ask why you left wrapped presents in the back of your truck and unattended?

That sucks. You have a much more positive reaction to this than I would.

But..................as a pickup owner myself...................WHY would you leave anything of value in the bed of your truck???????People cannot be trusted in this world! I don't wanna blame the victim here, but you gotta take precautions.....

Not all "trucks" have beds. I consider a Suburban or a Trailblazer or a Yukon to be a truck also. Could have been a cab-and-a-half or king cab truck as well and the presents were stored there.
I'm sure he didn't leave them in the bed of the truck unless there was a hard cover on it.

Well to all those who think I am an idiot...they were yes in the bed, but my bed has a locked tonneau cover on it. Someone went out of their way to break in and steal them...but again for all that work they must be in a lesser place then me...so enjoy!
  • You have such a good attitude, I applaud you. I'm sorry this happened to you.
To the person that did this, THIS is what I have to say to you:

You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch

You're a mean one, Mister Grinch
    You really are a heel,
You're as cuddly as a cactus, you're as charming as an eel, Mister Grinch,

You're a bad banana with a greasy black peel!

    You're a monster, Mister Grinch,
    Your heart's an empty hole,
Your brain is full of spiders, you've got garlic in your soul, Mister Grinch,

    I wouldn't touch you with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole!

You're a vile one, Mister Grinch,
You have termites in your smile,
You have all the tender sweetness of a seasick crocodile, Mister Grinch,

Given a choice between the two of you I'd take the ... seasick crocodile!

    You nauseate me, Mister Grinch,
    With a nauseous super "naus",
You're a crooked dirty jockey and you drive a crooked hoss, Mister Grinch,

You're a three decker sauerkraut and toadstool sandwich, with arsenic sauce!

You're a foul one, Mister Grinch,
    You're a nasty wasty skunk,
Your heart is full of unwashed socks, your soul is full of gunk, Mister Grinch,

The three words that describe you are as follows, and I quote, "Stink, Stank, Stunk!"

    You're a rotter, Mister Grinch,
You're the king of sinful sots,
Your heart's a dead tomato splotched with moldy purple spots, Mister Grinch,

Your soul is an appalling dump heap overflowing with the most disgraceful assortment of rubbish imaginable, mangled up in tangled up knots!

Wow, that's just low! One thing is for sure though, whoever stole the gifts didn't really get away with it. I'm a Christian (I'm not trying to get the thread locked so please nobody complain) and I know that God knows what the person has done and will have to answer to God in due time. I hope you have a Merry Christmas anyway. I hope the thief has such a guilty conscience, he'll bring back the gifts. God bless you for having such a wonderful attitude. The thief could learn something from you.:flowerforyou:

sometimes people steal and return, just so they have the money..it happened to us about 5 years ago..our friends and neighbors turned enemies ( because they were too greedy ) decided that as we were moving out 2 months after christmas, the toys my kids got would be better for their bratty kids, so they picked the lock to my truck, broke in and cleaned us out..to hell with them..and im really sorry you had to deal with that:mad:

You truly are an inspiration, to be able to let go of the gifts in a spirit of good will and kindness. Most people would be angry, bitter and feel victimized and violated. For some, it would destroy their faith in humanity, but you are right that whoever took it must be in a bad place - either they are financially destitute, or emotionally or spiritually so.

I am grateful that this has not caused you undue hardship, and I hope that you are blessed for your goodness tenfold. Merry Christmas!

Yea I have to agree, if someone is willing to stoop that low - well karma will return the favor.

Years ago I had this busted up old car. Okay, well I STILL have a busted up old car - but this is a different busted up old car. It had no radio at all and my hubby and I put this really cheapo barely working little battery powered radio in it. It had no c.d. player or anything - only a.m. stations would tune lol but it was something to listen to as we drove (and he likes sports radio anyway). Someone busted out my window to steal that little $5 broken radio!!!!!!!!!!! I was shocked! I'd only run into the drug store to pick up a notebook and I come out and my window is busted and my little radio was gone.

    Craziness.

Stupid window was too expensive to replace though. So we upped our ghetto factor with our cardboard and duct tape ;)

Yeh, people are sorry. There's a big problem with packages being stolen from porches too. *kitten*.
  • Not to hijack, but with the recent uptick in crime, I just joined my neighborhood block-watch. Let's all look out for each other! If you see something that just doesn't look right, call the police non-emergency number. If it's an emergency, call 911.

i made that mistake once. i had done some christmas shopping and was headed home when i got a call from some friends who were at a bar in D.C. decided to join them and completely forgot about the bags in my back seat. came back to a busted window and everything was gone.

but i was the idiot that left an unattended car on the streets of DC at night with the back seat loaded with goods so i only blame myself.
