Question about sit-ups and toning stomach?

At the moment, I don't have the time nor money to go to the gym.

At home, I just do sit-ups and press-ups. (I also do 30-40 minutes walking a day)

But what I want to know is, how many sit ups will I have to do a day, and for how many days before I notice a difference in my stomach.
My stomach isn't yet flat, I weigh about 172lb and I'm 5ft 9.

Thanks in advance. x

You cannot spot reduce any body part with exercise. Just stay in calorie deficit and consistent exercise and it will eventually happen.

I'm not trying to spot reduce, I'm just trying to tone and tighten my stomach.

Still, the advice is the same. Calorie deficit, include strength training and cardio and be patient.

"trying to tone and tighten my stomach" is almost an exact definition of spot reduction. The first reply is correct. Unfortuneately, one of the body's favorite places to store fat is the abdomen so it is the last place you will be "toned". If you are talking six pack abs you need to get your body fat down to 5-15% depending on genetics. Doing body weight squats, lunges, and push-up will help speed up your metabolism, build some muscle, and give you faster results.

    Cheers,
